1. Dinner and fireworks at the California Grill

What better place to enjoy a delicious anniversary meal than at the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Featuring California flavors and a panoramic view of the Seven Seas Lagoon, the California Grill offers a magical atmosphere for dinner. Afterwards, take in the amazing Magic Kingdom fireworks from the observation deck.

2. Carrousel ride

The only price tag for this idea is the cost of entry into the Magic Kingdom.  Stroll over to Fantasyland in the evening and take a spin on the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. The carrousel music, the glowing lights of Fantasyland, and the backdrop of Cinderella Castle will make you feel like part of an enchanted fairy tale.

3. Safari ride at sunset

The soft glow of a setting sun over the savannah is the perfect backdrop for a romantic ride on the Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Catch a glimpse of some of the safari inhabitants that aren’t often seen in the heat of the day, and each adventure is never the same.

4. Dinner and a movie

With 62 restaurants, Disney Springs has something for every appetite, as well as several restaurants perfect for an intimate meal. Morimoto Asia, Paddlefish, or Paradiso 37 are all excellent choices. Pair it with a movie at the AMC theater, which offers dining options as well.

5. Up and away

If your idea of a special anniversary includes adventure, check out Aerophile on Disney Springs’ West Side and take an inspiring hot air balloon ride. The tethered balloon ascends 400 feet, giving guests a spectacular view of up to 10 miles away.

6. Dessert parties

If you’re looking for a distinctive way to enjoy the fireworks with your special date in the romantic atmosphere of Epcot’s World Showcase, consider the Frozen Ever After Sparkling Dessert Party. Delectable desserts are presented in a more private setting, while guests are treated to the best seats for the spectacular fireworks display at the end of the night. Other dessert parties are available to book in the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

7. Special souvenirs

Choosing a special souvenir is a fun way to remember a great vacation. Stroll through the shops and pick out a memento of your anniversary to remember the romantic trip for years to come. A lovely piece of Disney artwork, a set of Disney champagne flutes, or a that expensive crystal Cinderella Castle are all favorite ideas of mine!

8. Dine with Lady & the Tramp

Spend your anniversary with one of Disney’s most romantic couples, Lady and the Tramp.  Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, the famous setting for the canine couple’s romantic spaghetti dinner in the animated Disney film, serves delicious Italian specialties in a cozy setting in the Magic Kingdom. A statue of Lady and the Tramp graces a lovely fountain in the center of the restaurant, and glass windows offer picturesque views of Main Street. Since we’re talking Italian, another great dinner choice for a romantic meal is Tutto Italia in the Italy Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase. Vibrant murals and attentive waiters complement a varied menu of pasta, fish, and chicken dishes. Save room for a decadent cannoli or gelato for dessert.

9. Carriage rides

Looking for a relaxing, yet still romantic, option? Make a reservation for a horse-drawn carriage ride through the peaceful woods at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground or by the scenic water views at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside. At 25 minutes long, each ride is perfectly timed to enjoy the beauty of the resort grounds before your next Disney adventure. For an extra special experience, take a ride during the holidays when the carriages are adorned with festive decorations.

10. Taking it inside

Interested in a quieter celebration? Take advantage of Disney’s Floral and Gift delivery service and have the celebration brought to your hotel room. There are several packages available that would be perfect to celebrate an anniversary, or you can create a custom package. Choose from chocolates, flowers, spa accessories, or even jewelry for a lovely in-room celebration surprise.

About Melissa Fegely

I have been a professional writer for over 18 years with degrees in Biology and English. I am a lifelong Disney fan and a Disney Vacation Club member of over nine years. Having visited Walt Disney World several times growing up, I really caught the Disney bug after many trips with my husband. Now I am happily addicted to taking our son to Walt Disney World as often as possible and watching him experience the magic and Mickey Bars as he grows up. Traveling to Walt Disney World twice a year, I enjoy attending the Flower and Garden festival held in the spring and strolling around the World Showcase, as well as exploring all of the hidden gems that all four parks have to offer. I love helping my family and friends plan their next Disney trips based on my experiences. I also enjoy reading, swimming, traveling, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania, attended Shippensburg University, and current live in suburban Philadelphia with my husband, son, and two cats.
