3 Different New Year Celebrations at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort

Disney's Contemporary Resort

Disney Parks Blog announced today that there will be 3 different ways to ring in the New Year at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World.  Reservations for the event open on July 11th for each of the different events.  The series of events is being known as the Enchanting Extras Collection and all sound like magical ways to ring in 2018.  Each of the events can be booked by calling 407-WDW-DINE.  We have the details on each of the events below.

“Disney Countdown to Magic” will include dining, music, drinks and dancing.  There will be a DJ keeping the event hopping while Mickey and Minnie are expected to make an appearance at the event.  As 2018 approaches a toast with a flute of champagne.  You will get to view the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom from an amazing location, too.  The event will run from 8 PM to 1 AM.  It will take place in the Fantasia Ballroom.  The event is only for guests that are aged 18 and older.

“Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration” is designed for everyone, including the kiddos.  There will be vignettes from Pixar movies like Andy’s Room (Toy Story) and Metro City (The Incredibles).  This will be an immersive experience that everyone will love.  There will also be characters from movies like The Incredibles, Cars, Up and Toy Story to ring in 2018 with guests.  There will also be activities like face painting, balloon artists, a boot camp and a DJ.  There will be a dinner included that is served buffet style. Guests will be directed out to a special viewing area of the fireworks at midnight.  The event will take place in the Ballroom of the Americas.  The hours for the event will be 8 PM to 12:15 AM.

“Down in New Orleans: A Disney New Year’s Eve Dining Experience” is the final celebration option.  The event is themed after the Disney movie, The Princess and the Frog.  The banquet room will be decorated in true New Orleans style.  There will be stations that feature beignets, smoked salmon mousse cones with caviar, Kobe beef tartare and sheep’s milk ricotta gnocchi.   The signature dishes at the event will include herb-crusted Louisiana redfish, crayfish etouffee, Black Angus beef cooked two ways, braised short ribs and filet of beef with truffled celery root silk.  There will be a jazz band performing throughout the evening that performs songs from the evening.  Guests will sip a glass of champagne for a New Year’s toast.  There will also be a special viewing area for the Magic Kingdom fireworks. The event will take place in the Grand Republic Ballroom.  The event is scheduled to run from 7 PM to 12:15 AM.

What do you think of these amazing events?  Who will be making their reservations ASAP?  It is very likely these events will be popular, so I would act fast!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
