6 Reasons We Love Quick Service Dining At Walt Disney World

Whether you’ve just booked a Disney trip with the quick service dining plan, or you’re just looking to trim down some of your budget on your next trip, there are plenty of reasons to look into quick service dining at Walt Disney World. The resort offers so many options for quick service dining, that you may never even look back to the table service restaurants you thought you may be missing out on. Read on to learn just a few of the reasons why we truly love quick service dining at Walt Disney World:

1. Value

As expected, Disney’s quick service meals are lower in price than their table service counterparts, however they can also often be a better value. Many quick service meals can be split among two adults, which over the course of an entire vacation can save you a lot of money. If a quick service dinner costs $15 on its own, but is a large enough portion for two adults to share, then you’re able to have a meal for $7.50 each (without drinks). Ask for a cup of tap water, and your meal will be $7.50 with drinks. And during a vacation where nearly every price is a bit inflated, a dinner of this price point is a great deal. Even without splitting meals or doing any kind of fancy math, quick service dining is cheaper than table service dining for about the same amount of food. So if you’re looking to save some extra cash cutting out table service dining in favor of quick service restaurants altogether should save you a noticeable amount of change at the end of your trip.

2. Variety

Many first-time Walt Disney World guests are surprised to see how much variety there actually can be with quick service meals. If you’re dreading quick service dining because you’re worried about eating a week’s worth of hamburgers and hot dogs, you’ll be happy to know that you can actually order anything from barbecued ribs to salads, to pizza, and more! Each of the theme parks do have your standard burger/hot dog/chicken nugget quick service locations, but in general each restaurant follows a different theme that carries over into the food.

3. “Quick” Service

One part of a Disney vacation that easily causes stress is trying to plan out your time. It’s not hard to find yourself overwhelmed by all of the attractions you want to do, compared with the park hours, compared with spending time eating and stopping for bathroom breaks and shops. By spending less time eating, you’ll be able to spend more time enjoying the parks. Quick service restaurants are super efficient in that you’ll be able to be in and out in about half the time that it would take you to dine at a table service restaurant.

4. Mobile Ordering

It’s super simple to use Mobile Ordering at numerous Quick Service Restaurants throughout Disney World Property. Order and pay for your food from the MyDisneyExperience app and pick up your food when you arrive. It’s awesome! Quick Service locations accepting Mobile Ordering are growing quickly and include restaurants like Satu’li Canteen, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café, D-Luxe Burger, Flame Tree Barbecue, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, Pinocchio Village Haus, Pizzafari, Restaurantosaurus, Columbia Harbour House, Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, Electric Umbrella, Backlot Express, ABC Commissary, Pizza Rizzo, and much more.

5. Kids Meals

One of the most convenient (and budget friendly) parts of quick service dining at Walt Disney World is that adults can order off the kids menu. In most cases, the kids meals are enough food for one adult, and if you like what the kids menu has to offer ordering from it can save you money, and include some extra snacks like yogurt, grapes, apples, cookies, and a drink to name a few. Ordering off the kids menu can be the perfect way to save some money and eat well for an adult visiting the park alone, or anyone who might be sticking to a tight budget during a Disney trip.

6. Dinner and a Show

For the ultimate dinner and a show inside a quick service restaurant, you’ll want to head to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in the Magic Kingdom. Not only can guests dine on delicious cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, and more complete with a wonderful toppings bar, but they can also enjoy a live concert by the resident alien, Sonny Eclipse. Other dinner and a show opportunities can really take place at any show that allows food. For instance, when grabbing seats for Fantasmic, we usually stop along Sunset Boulevard and pick up dinner to bring into the stadium with us. It’s a little bit of a walk while carrying food, but if you can handle it it’s well worth saving the time of eating while saving your seats!
