50th Anniversary Magic Bands Available for Pre-Order

There is going to be lots of merchandise available for the 50th Anniversary, The World’s Most Magical Celebration, which is going to last 15 months. Walt Disney World just announced that they would have 50th Anniversary Magic Bands Available. Magic Bands are very useful all around Walt Disney World property. They work as your Park admission, room key, credit or debit card, PhotoPass, and more.

These Magic Bands are available for pre-order and online will cost $30 each, and you must either be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort or be an Annual Passholder who has not already bought their magic band for that year. These Magic Bands are limited edition and will most likely become a collector’s item. At the theme parks, the collectible magic bands often cost $45, so we are assuming in Park that will be the price, but that is not confirmed. You can order yours by going on My Disney Experience and log in to your account, then select magic bands.

Magic Bands are no longer complementary to Disney Resort Hotel Guests and are now an extra fee. If you have a Magic Band from a previous visit, you can still use that one for any new park days for hotel stays. The battery life in the puck of your Magic Band is estimated to last two years, although many people have had them last years longer. Your Magic Band will always work for the touchpoint at the front of the Park. The problem with the battery is that it may no longer pick up ride photos. If you have a Magic Band that you really like, you can swap out the puck for a newer one.
