6 Best Reasons To Stay At A Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort

We are huge fans of Deluxe resorts at Disney World. Our first Deluxe stay was at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and since then we haven’t gone back. We have grown very spoiled to the extra amenities, services and dining options that we believe that these resorts are worth the extra splurge. If you haven’t stayed Deluxe level, you have to give it a try if the budget allows. Here are the 6 best reasons to stay at a Deluxe resort for your next stay:

6. Rooms are larger

The size of the room can make a huge difference, especially if you are a family of 5. The rooms at the Deluxe resorts tend to be comparatively larger in size. A lot of the deluxe rooms are able to sleep 5 family members, comfortably, where you may only be able to have 4 in moderate or value resorts. These rooms tend to have king/queen bed options and a day bed option in the couch. This can also be helpful if you have 2 children or teens who don’t want to share a bed.

5. Resort dining options

For many guests, Disney dining is part of their Disney vacation experience. When staying at a Deluxe resort, you have various dining options. Each Deluxe resort typically has at least 2 table-service options, quick-service, lounges and room service. Value resorts don’t offer table service restaurants or lounges at all and moderate resorts offer table-service restaurants that are typically only open for dinner reservations with no breakfast or lunch service options. You can obviously visit the Deluxe resort restaurants without staying at the resort, but it so wonderful to just walk down from your room and have numerous, delicious, dining options at your fingertips.

4. Amenities/Recreation offerings

The Deluxe resorts offer amenities that the other resort classes don’t have available. Many of the deluxe resorts offer fitness centers, spas, spa services and massages. The resorts also have numerous recreation activities such as boat rentals, bike/surrey rentals, yacht rentals, etc. There are numerous, beautiful jogging trails to enjoy. The amenities are plentiful and make a huge difference in your experience and what options are available to you at the resort. You can even plan fishing or parasailing adventures and depart right from your resort.

3. Transportation and location

Location is everything, especially when you are trying to get to the different parks and locations around Disney property. The Deluxe resorts are located in prime locations, depending on which park that you prefer to be the closest to. There is also more transportation options available at most Deluxe resorts. In the Magic Kingdom resort area, you have the monorail which is a huge benefit. The monorail goes to Magic Kingdom and Epcot and is an extremely efficient and fun way to get around property. These resorts also have boat options to get back and forth to Magic Kingdom as well as between other resorts in the area. The Epcot area resorts have the Disney Skyliner, boats and walking trails that go to the World Showcase entrance to Epcot, which is very convenient when you plan to dine in the World Showcase. These conveniences can save you a lot of time and hassle during your stay, especially during peak times.

2. Amazing pools

Disney knows how to do pools. The pools at all of the resorts are amazing and perfectly themed. The resorts are Deluxe resorts are taken to the next level and are nothing short of amazing. These pools even have mini-water park areas, slides, fountains and other features that are themed to fit the resort and provide an experience unlike any other. Some of the pools even have additional pool side services and cabana rentals that are only offered at Deluxe resorts. This allows you to take your pool time and relaxation to the next level.

1. Club level upgrade option

The Deluxe resorts are the only resorts that offer a club level option. Club level rooms are reserved at an extra cost that could be $100-250 higher than a standard room, depending on the season. With this upgrade you are typically on the desired floor within the resort, have access to the club lounge and receive the services from the itinerary planning office. The club lounge is an area only available to club level guests where beverages, snacks, appetizers, etc. are served throughout the day for guests to enjoy at no added cost. The itinerary planning office helps you to coordinate your dining and recreation activities and then will reserve them for you when your booking window opens. You won’t have to worry about any of those details and the planning office will take care of everything. It takes your vacation to the next level of relaxation and pampering so you can just show up and enjoy.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
