Chef Mickey’s a real fan favorite and can be extremely difficult to get a dining reservation for.  The reservations times get booked up extremely fast, so you will want to make your plans early so you can snag this one.  There are so many reasons why this restaurant is so amazing, but here are 6 things I know you will love about Chef Mickey’s:

6. Three different meal service options

This location offers a breakfast, lunch and dinner service each day.  This gives you three different options to experience the amazing location, food and characters that are present at each service.  It is definitely next to impossible to determine which on is the best option to choose, so maybe you should just try them all!  Each one is sure to present a different, yet amazing time for you and your family.

5. Walking distance to the Magic Kingdom

This restaurant is located within the impressive Contemporary Resort.  The Contemporary Resort just happens to be walking distance to the Magic Kingdom.  If you are traveling during peak travel times or you feel like an extra stroll without waiting for other transportation, you are able to just walk to and from your meal to quickly get back and forth from the park and back to enjoying the rest of your vacation. This is a major perk when you only have a set amount of precious Disney minutes.

4. All you care to enjoy

All three of the dining services each day are an all you care to enjoy meal, meaning that you can visit the full buffet as many times as you want. With all of the amazing items, you will definitely want to. At breakfast there are pastries, cereals, fruits and numerous traditional hot items. Lunch and dinner offer salad bars, fruit, item after item crafted by the amazing chefs and some of the most delicious desserts.  With all of these dining options and the unlimited buffet access, this makes this dining location a value for your family and one that could allow you to skip a meal in between to save extra funds!

3. Character dining experience with the classic characters

At this location you can expect to meet any combination of these characters:  Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald.  You get the opportunity to meet your favorite classic characters, and all dressed in their chef costumes ready to interact with each family and lead them in fun songs and activities.  It is a really fun experience to meet your favorite, loveable characters from the comfort of your table without the need to wait in long lines.  You get to enjoy your meal and conversation with your family, and then get unforgettable character interactions.

2. Family photos

This is a dining location that offers family photos.  You get to take a picture in front of a huge plate and utensils so that you can commemorate your experience at Chef Mickey’s.  The photo package is available for purchase during your meal, or if you have Memory Maker linked to your account, then you get the photos added to your Memory Maker account.  It is always nice to get another picture of the whole family and a way to remember an amazing experience that you share together.

1. The monorail

The monorail is most everyone’s favorite method of Disney transportation.  It is a true fan favorite and for most is considered a “ride” all in itself.  The monorail just so happens to run right through the Contemporary Resort with a perfect view of Chef Mickey’s restaurant.  This means you get to see the monorail passing through periodically throughout your meal.  This also means that you can take a ride on the monorail before or after (or both) your meal to really complete the perfect Disney experience.  You can even ride around a few times and right back off at the same location.  Everything is better with the monorail!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
