6. A great excuse to visit Animal Kingdom Lodge

Everything about Animal Kingdom Lodge is absolutely stunning. The architecture is extremely impressive and boasts and amazing lobby, in both resorts, Jambo House and Kidani Village. Sanaa is located in Kidani Village and gives you the perfect excuse to come over and tour the resort. The warmth from the beautiful fireplaces and the lower lit ambiance set the mood for a real African-inspired experience. The décor for the resort is perfectly themed and really transports you to a different time and place. This is a major perk to dining here, and you must be sure to take the time to explore!

5. The amazing views

Sanaa is located right off of the savanna. The windows the restaurant allow you to see giraffes, zebras and various other wildlife that live in the savanna. This is a truly unique experience that you really can’t find many places in general, and is definitely exclusive to Walt Disney World. The opportunity to dine and observe these amazing creatures is truly a memorable experience for the whole family.

4. Reasonable prices

The prices at this location as pretty reasonable, compared against many Walt Disney World dining options. Most of the dinner entrees are around the low $20 range. The appetizer and dessert offerings are also very reasonable, making this a stop that won’t break the bank, especially with the caliber of the experience that you receive when you dine at this location.

3. The Na’an bread

This bread is absolutely amazing, and is made fresh to order right there in the restaurant. There is a special stove that is used to make the bread, where it actually cooks on the wall of the circular stove. The bread is then pried off when it is done and served with hummus and various sides. It is delicious and very unique. Definitely a must have for the foodies out there.

2. African cuisine

The cuisine at this location is completely African inspired. You will find dishes and flavors that are known within the various regions of Africa. You will have lamb and fresh fish as options for entrees. You will also see Potjie, Sosati and Braaivleis on the menu which are offerings traditional to Africa and provide variations on meat preparations/seasonings. If you like to try something new and different, this is definitely the place for you!

1. The atmosphere

In the evening, this restaurant is truly romantic in the way it looks and feels. The lights are dimly light, there are fires going and the beautiful windows overlooking evening in the savanna. It’s really like this any time of day, but evening feels the most romantic. The amazing cast members go above and beyond to help introduce African culture to you, along with the help of the beautifully themed resort. This is a perfect date night spot, or sport for a special occasion with the family.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
