7 Reasons You Will Love Staying At Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

I absolutely love the Yacht Club, and I think you will two! Located next to its sister resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, on Crescent Lake, the Yacht Club combines elegance, charm and convenience to create one of the best resorts on Disney Property. There are probably a hundred reasons you will love staying here! You will find my top seven below, and I hope you enjoy discovering the rest on your next Disney vacation!

7. The view –

They Yacht Club is located on Crescent Lake, whose shores are also decorated with Disney’s Beach Club, the Swan and Dolphin resorts, and Disney’s Boardwalk. You can enjoy the view as you walk along the lake, but the best place to take it all in is the balcony of a lagoon view room. The view is especially spectacular at night, when the boardwalk’s reflection glistens on the lake.

6. The Yachtsman Steakhouse –

When you stay at the Yacht Club you are literally a stone’s throw away from over a dozen great restaurants. Right in your own resort is worthy of a special acknowledgment – the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Lauded by many as the best steakhouse in Disney, this is fine dining Disney style. The Yachtsman has a dress code and elegant décor, while serving up delicious grain-fed beef that they age in house and cook on an oak-fired grill.

5. Opportunities to enjoy the water –

True to its name, the Yacht Club Resort offers plenty of ways to get out on the water. Where the Beach Club has a beach along Crescent Lake, the Yacht Club has a marina. At Bayside Marina, you can rent motorized boats to cruise around Crescent Lake on your own, or take a guided tour. There are fishing tours (and plenty of bass in the lake!!!) as well as a Pirate Adventure Cruise which is tons of fun for the kids.

4. Staying fit –

Just because you are on vacation doesn’t mean you have to take a break from your fitness routine. In fact, with all the delicious food you’ll be eating at Disney, you will probably want to burn a few calories while you’re there. The Yacht Club is the perfect resort for fitness enthusiast. The Ship Shape health club, located near Stormalong Bay, provides plenty of options for cardio and strength training. If running or walking is your thing, you will love the running paths you can access from the Yacht Club. And if you want your exercised disguised as play, the Yacht Club has tennis and beach volleyball courts for you! There’s no excuse for slacking on your exercise plan when you stay at the Yacht Club Resort!

3. The pools –

The Yacht and Beach Club share what is known to many as the best pool on Disney property – Stormalong Bay. Stormalong Bay is over 3-acres of a water wonderland. It features sand bottom pools, a lazy river, waterfalls, a 150+ ft. waterslide, a junior slide, two hot tubs, and a beach play area. If you are looking for a more relaxing experience, the Yacht and Beach Club also share three quiet pools that are nestled away from the crowds.

2. It is great for all ages –

The Yacht Club really caters to guests of all ages. While the Beach Club tends to attract a lot of families with young kids and have a high-energy atmosphere, the Yacht Club feels a little more laid back. Travelers without young kids may feel more comfortable at the Yacht Club than the Beach Club. Those with kids shouldn’t be deterred though – since both resorts share all of their amenities, there is plenty for kids do!

1. The location –

If the reasons listed above have not convinced you to stay at the Yacht Club, it is likely that understanding how awesome the location is will! From the Yacht Club, you can easily walk to the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT Center in about five minutes. This alone is brilliant! Spending the day at EPCOT and realize you forgot something in the room? Or just want to head back to take a quick nap? You can be there in no time! The closeness to EPCOT really helps to break down the barrier between theme park and resort, and adds to the magic of the vacation. It is a little longer walk, about twenty minutes, or a short boat ride to Hollywood Studios, both of which are pleasant trips and not too crowded. Plus, the Skyliner is near EPCOT for easy access to and from several Skyliner resorts and Hollywood Studios. Disney’s Boardwalk is also a five-minute walk or short boat ride from the Yacht Club, and offers great dining and nightlife.

About Katie D

I grew up in New Jersey in a family where the word “vacation” was synonymous with “Disney World.” After a few years of visiting regularly, my family became Disney Vacation Club members which meant we visited even more! Going to Disney always felt kind of like going home, and some of my best childhood and teenage memories occurred there. Now that I live in Jacksonville, FL I am excited to be a short drive from this magical place and look forward to making new memories for years to come.
