Staying onsite at a Walt Disney World resort makes sense for many reasons. The convenience, efficiency, and cost savings are convincing enough, plus staying onsite keeps you immersed in the Disney magic for the length of your stay. Walt Disney World offers Value, Moderate, Deluxe, and Villa resort category choices so that there is a perfect resort for everyone. In Walt Disney World, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort are all considered in the Deluxe category. These resorts have a bigger price tag than the value and moderate resorts, but here’s why they deliver an amazing vacation for guests.

7. Top-notch restaurant choices

Unlike the value and moderate resorts, the deluxe resorts will have at least one full-service restaurant, and in many cases, they will have several enjoyable restaurants available. This is in addition to a quick service eatery and the food and beverage options available at the resort’s lounges/bars.

6. So much to do

Deluxe resorts offer a wide range of activities if you want to take a break from the parks. Depending on what resort you’re staying at, guests can enjoy several themed pools for swimming, relaxing spa services, bike rentals, water activities, dinner shows, archery, horseback riding, and the list goes on and on.

5. A hop, skip, and a jump away from the fun

One of the biggest reasons guests love the deluxe resorts is their proximity to the parks and transportation. Several of the deluxe resorts are on the monorail line and Skyliner. With the monorail, guests can be at the Magic Kingdom or Epcot in a few minutes. With the Skyliner, guests can be at Hollywood Studios or Epcot quickly. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is very close to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Resorts lining Crescent Lake are within walking distance of Epcot and a short boat ride, walk, or Skyliner ride away from Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

4. More room for your buck

Guests that enjoy relaxing in their room enjoy the extra living space and bigger bed sizes that deluxe accommodations have to offer. In the bathroom area, the sinks and vanity area are spacious and separate from the actual bathroom, making it easier for families to get ready in the morning for a day in the parks.

3. Shop till you drop

A relaxing way to spend an afternoon out of the sun might be to check out the shops at your resort. Besides offering the vacation essentials like sunblock and snacks, items for purchase include handbags, jewelry, resort wear, and home goods. The shops are charmingly themed to the resort, and your shopping experience will be less crowded than visiting the larger stores at the parks.

2. Amenities

The amenities present at deluxe resorts are a step up from the value and moderate choices. Besides the fan favorites of fancy shampoo, conditioner, lotions, and soaps, deluxe resorts give guests additional options, such as gym facilities, childcare services (for an additional fee), laundry and dry cleaning, valet parking, and concierge services.

1. The best views

Enjoying your morning coffee while watching the zebras and giraffes graze, or sipping a glass of wine on your balcony as the sun sets on Bay Lake is my favorite reason to love Walt Disney World’s deluxe resorts. Taking in the Happily Ever After fireworks display over Cinderella Castle from the comfort of your resort room is a fantastic Disney experience and makes your deluxe resort choice worth every penny.

About Melissa Fegely

I have been a professional writer for over 18 years with degrees in Biology and English. I am a lifelong Disney fan and a Disney Vacation Club member of over nine years. Having visited Walt Disney World several times growing up, I really caught the Disney bug after many trips with my husband. Now I am happily addicted to taking our son to Walt Disney World as often as possible and watching him experience the magic and Mickey Bars as he grows up. Traveling to Walt Disney World twice a year, I enjoy attending the Flower and Garden festival held in the spring and strolling around the World Showcase, as well as exploring all of the hidden gems that all four parks have to offer. I love helping my family and friends plan their next Disney trips based on my experiences. I also enjoy reading, swimming, traveling, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania, attended Shippensburg University, and current live in suburban Philadelphia with my husband, son, and two cats.
