7 Reasons You Will Love Staying At Wilderness Lodge

Wilderness Lodge is one of our favorite resorts on property. We do our family pictures here, we stop by to eat or we stay here! This has definitely become a comfortable place for us and there are so many reasons why! Here are 7 reasons you will love staying at Wilderness Lodge for your next stay:

7. Transportation and location.

Wilderness Lodge is located in the Magic Kingdom resort area, which is a huge benefit for access to possibly seeing fireworks or the Electric Water Parade from the resort, especially at the dock. The resort does offer the usual bus transportation, but there is also the water transportation, which is a huge selling point of this amazing resort. The water transportation takes you directly to the Magic Kingdom or to other resorts in the Magic Kingdom area. This is a huge benefit and such a fun way to travel!

6. Recreation activities.

This resort has so much going for it. One of my favorite things to experience are the bike rentals. You can rent bikes or a surrey bike and tour all over the grounds and the many trails. If you prefer to run (or walk) you can also hit the trails on foot for an amazing time. The pool here is also beautiful and a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The resort offers all kinds of pool and other recreation activities to entertain the guests and create a relaxing, fun resort environment.

5. The Carolwood Pacific Room.

If you are a Walt Disney fan, you know that he had a HUGE love of trains. Some of the trains from his private collection are on display in the Carolwood Pacific Room. It is an amazing piece of history to see and appreciate. Also in the room are various games and an inviting environment to enjoy a little bit of down time and relaxation with your family.

4. Delicious restaurants.

You definitely won’t go hungry when you stay here! There are multiple dining locations and they are all fabulous. You have the Roaring Fork for quick-service. You also have Whispering Canyon Café serving breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. The food here is AMAZING, and the atmosphere is fun, and crazy. It will have the whole family hootin’ and hollerin’. Artist Point offers beautiful views and is a Signature Dining experience that is only open for dinner. You have the opportunity to encounter a delicious culinary experience with perfect wine pairings during your stay.

3. Cookie decorating hour, architecture tour and more!

Each resort has special experiences for guests to enjoy. 2 of the regular experiences offered at Wilderness Lodge are the cookie decorating and a free tour around the resort to learn more about the architecture and construction. During cookie decorating hour, guests are given sugar cookies with icing, sprinkles, etc. You get to decorate your cooking and then eat it! They are delicious and oh, so fun! The tour is around 45 minutes to an hour and very informative, especially if you learning more about the behind the scenes aspects that go into the resort. Another really cool event is to be the Flag Family for the day. On many days, a family is selected to be the Flag Family and put the flag up at the top of the resort. It is something that many guests don’t even know about! There are many more activities, so you will definitely want to check the activities guide when you check in to see what else you could experience.

2. Deluxe amenities.

Wilderness Lodge is in the Deluxe Resort category. This means that you have all of the amenities available to you that are standard for Disney’s Deluxe resorts. There are Club Level room options (this is Disney’s version of Concierge level guests) for an extra price. There is also a spa where you can get various services and massages. You can park your car in valet so that you can have it brought to you when you are ready. The list goes on and on. It is amazing to feel like you are being treated to a real Deluxe experience!

This really is one of the most beautiful resorts on property. The grounds are lush, green and so relaxing. The lodge gives you the perfect level of feeling away from the hustle and bustle while you still have all of the amazing amenities and comforts that you want while you are on vacation. If you want a nice escape but still connected to everything, this is definitely the place for you. Every detail of the resort is stunning and perfectly themed to fit the imagineers visions for this one!
