Disneyland Resort is known as The Happiest Place on Earth—a wonderful place full of magic where dreams can come true if you have a little faith, trust, and pixie dust. The Resort — which consists of Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and the Downtown Disney District — is full of iconic attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion, the Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, The Matterhorn, and more.

Guests visiting Disneyland can experience wonderful nighttime shows like Fantasmic! and watch fireworks light up the sky over Sleeping Beauty Castle. And, beginning May 16, the Resort will kick off its massive 70th Anniversary celebration, which will be full of new experiences and dining options!

Sadly, that sense of magic and safety was thrown into chaos on the evening of March 24 when police shut down parts of the resort while a massive manhunt took place.

According to reports, Orange County Sheriff’s Department police officers were chasing two suspects who were suspected of stealing a vehicle. Anaheim Police and California Highway Patrol officers took over the pursuit as it neared Disneyland Resort.

The suspects pulled the stolen car into the newly built Pixar Pals parking lot and took off on foot.

Per The Orange County Register:

The suspect pulled into the Pixar Pals parking structure at Disneyland in Anaheim around 8 p.m., according to video news provider OnScene.TV.

Police were searching the parking structure for at least one suspect, authorities said. Broadcast reports said as many as four suspects could have been involved.

The structure was temporarily closed for the search Monday night, and visitors who parked there could not immediately access their vehicles. Air support was also patrolling in search of a suspect or suspects.

Guests were able to leave eventually, and no one was injured. However, there were guests in the garage who were told to stay in their cars and lock the doors until it was safe to leave.

Thankfully, the two suspects were apprehended. Their names were not released as they were described as two juveniles, and they reportedly stole the car from a Ritz-Carlton hotel.
