Walt Disney World Resort has just revealed its plans for the 2025 Christmas season, but there’s an unexpected twist: it seems like the Central Florida vacation destination is predicting significantly lower holiday crowd levels than usual. While Disney is bringing back all its beloved holiday offerings—including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park, Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, and the Merry Menagerie at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park—there are some signs that the typical holiday rush may be lacking.

The return of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights promises the usual holiday magic. However, neither of these events is included with regular theme park admission, and, unfortunately, both have seen a price increase. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets have risen by up to $10, and Disney Jollywood Nights tickets have gone up by as much as $20 per guest.

But in a move that seems to balance out the price increases, Walt Disney World Resort has announced significant discounts for the upcoming holiday season. Annual Passholders can save up to 30% on Disney Resort hotel stays, while other guests can save up to 20% and receive a $100 shopping and dining card to use during their stay. These discounts could be an effort to boost holiday attendance at the Disney parks, especially considering the increased event ticket prices.

Considering the discounts, Walt Disney World Resort is preparing for what may be the quietest holiday season in years. Christmas time is traditionally one of the busiest times of year at the Central Florida vacation destination, but with price increases and discounts being offered to attract guests, Disney may be bracing for a quieter crowd.

Historically, early November and early December—before and after Thanksgiving—are slower times at the Disney parks. However, with the changes this year, Walt Disney World Resort could see the lowest crowd levels during the holiday season in recent memory.
