A Disneyland Resort guest recently recounted her time in “Disney Jail” after cast members claimed her friend group had “harassed Mickey Mouse.” The incident took place during her Grad Nite event at the Southern California Disney parks, and she shared the story years later on TikTok.

“Disney Jail” is largely a fan-made term referring to the security offices and law enforcement bases on Disney property. Guests can be held temporarily in these locations if park rules are allegedly broken or safety concerns arise.

TikTok user @riley.jolley shared the story, and her video quickly gained traction with over 130,000 views and nearly 25,000 likes. The Disneyland Resort guest explained that she and her friends spotted Mickey Mouse while walking through the park. They wanted a photo but decided the line was too long. Instead, they snapped a quick picture and video while passing by, careful not to disturb other guests.

“We didn’t even stop walking,” she recalled. “…We didn’t get close to him because the line was way too long and we didn’t want to wait.”

Shortly after, Disney cast members approached the teens and asked if they had tried to take a photo with Mickey. The teens admitted they had, only to be told they were being brought into “Disney Jail” for harassment.

“I was like, ‘Mickey Mouse as in…the fictional character or the person dressed in the costume?’” the Disney Park guest said. “Because, what do you mean we just harassed Mickey Mouse? That doesn’t make any sense.”

The group tried to show the Disney cast members the videos as proof, but they were still escorted to the security office.

“You can see, no one laid a hand on Mickey Mouse, no one laid a hand on the person dressed in the Mickey Mouse costume,” the TikToker recalled saying. “Your claims do not hold up.”

Expectations of a colorful, themed holding area were quickly dashed.

“It was gray,” the guest recalled. “It was obviously the saddest part about Disneyland.”

When the teens refused to admit to harassing Mickey Mouse, Disneyland Resort security called the Anaheim Police Department.

“We were like, ‘You can see the video. Nothing happened,’” she explained. “We were not backing down. We didn’t even touch Mickey.”

Ultimately, the group faced no further consequences from Disney or law enforcement.

“They called Anaheim PD down, and when Anaheim got down here, they filled them in on what was happening, and Anaheim PD pretty much said, ‘This is a huge f**king waste of our time and we have so much to deal with,’ and they let us go,” the TikToker said. “But we were late back to the buses for Grad Nite, and we got in a lot of trouble.”

The group faced no further consequences from Disneyland Resort. Since this recent storytime video was filmed inside Disney California Adventure Park, the TikToker was clearly not permanently banned from the Disney parks.

TikTok commenters debated whether the group should have pursued legal action against Disneyland Resort.

“I’m so surprised this is not a lawsuit because they pretty much wasted your time because you didn’t harass Mickey Mouse,” @nicklifestyle0 wrote. “Even worse, they wasted Anaheim police’s time plus you got in tons of trouble with the school because of it.”

“They care a little too much,” said @chrxvslu.
