Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Shuts Down, Drained at Disneyland Park

It was a surreal scene: the iconic log flumes of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, once gliding through lush bayou scenes, now eerily empty. Disneyland Park has drained the attraction and shuttered its operations without any official announcement or timeline for reopening. As of September 13, 2025, the ride remains closed, leaving fans and parkgoers puzzled and concerned.

This unexpected shutdown follows a series of operational challenges since the ride’s debut in November 2024. From technical malfunctions to guest safety incidents, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has faced its share of hurdles. In June, Disneyland guests were left stranded and soaked when the ride abruptly stopped after midnight Disney Dining. Earlier in July, a guest’s disruptive behavior led to another temporary closure Disney Fanatic. Additionally, reports of malfunctioning animatronics have surfaced, with the first Princess Tiana figure remaining frozen for several days Disney Dining.

What Happened: The Ride Drained and Shut Down

Disneyland has not provided an official statement regarding the closure. However, the drained state of the ride suggests significant maintenance or repairs are underway. This move is reminiscent of previous closures, such as the Disneyland Railroad’s extended shutdown for track replacement. Given the ride’s recent technical issues, it’s possible Disney is addressing underlying problems to ensure a smoother experience upon reopening.

How to Experience It (When It Reopens)

While the ride is currently closed, it’s worth noting that Disneyland has previously adjusted its operations for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. In early 2025, the ride was removed from the Lightning Lane system, returning to a standby-only line. This change aimed to alleviate congestion and improve guest flow. Once the ride reopens, visitors can expect a similar experience, albeit with potential enhancements or changes based on the ongoing maintenance.

Insider Tips: What to Know

  • Stay Informed: Keep an eye on Disneyland’s official channels for updates on the ride’s status.

  • Alternative Attractions: While Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is closed, consider visiting other nearby attractions like Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean.

  • Prepare for Water: When the ride reopens, be ready to get wet. Guests have previously reported being soaked during the ride New York Post.

Why It Matters: Disneyland Fans React

The closure of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has sparked a wave of reactions from fans. Many are expressing disappointment over the ride’s sudden shutdown, especially after its recent opening. Some fans are concerned about the future of the attraction, while others are hopeful that the maintenance will lead to a better experience. The ride’s closure also raises questions about Disney’s commitment to maintaining and updating its attractions to meet guest expectations.

As of now, Disneyland has not announced a reopening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. 1. All hopes of hopes is that Disney will fix the story. Add more characters from the film, especially Doctor Facilier.

  2. We rode Tiana’s bayou adventure on the 12th and 14th. No closure seen on those days. Must have been a super isolated thing.

  3. This make over has been one of the biggest failures by Imagineering since the disastrous Disneyland Tomorrowland update when Rocket Rods were introduced. What a mess. Disney needs to quit destroying their biggest, most popular assets at their American parks.

  4. Rode it a few weeks ago. Got really wet.
