Change is happening all around Walt Disney World and Disneyland, though the excitement isn’t just limited to Disney’s domestic parks.
Big things are planned for all of Disney’s theme park resorts worldwide, especially Disneyland Paris, which is currently undergoing one of its largest transformations and renovations ever. Next year, the resort’s highly anticipated World of Frozen expansion will open, allowing travelers to visit the world of Arendelle.
This new area will be located inside Walt Disney Studios Park, which will be renamed Disney Adventure World to coincide with the introduction of World of Frozen.
Disney Adventure World will also house one of the resort’s most exciting new attractions, based on Disney’s classic animated film, The Lion King.

Following some minor updates on the attractions, Disneyland Paris is now officially testing its new Lion King ride. The attraction is a log flume experience similar to Splash Mountain, now Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
A new video shared on Instagram shows ride vehicles for the new attraction being sent over the ride’s drop. This test is not where the actual attraction will be located, but a separate backstage area.
It’s uncertain whether this is the attraction’s “big” drop or a smaller one. One thing that is for sure is the ride’s capacity, which is much larger than Disney’s previous water log rides.
Disneyland Paris’s Lion King ride will have a capacity of 12 passengers at a time, making the vehicles themselves much larger.

The new attraction was unveiled during The Walt Disney Company’s D23 conference in August 2024. This was hardly the only major announcement made during the event, with Disney confirming new lands for Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, but Paris’ new Lion King ride was undoubtedly one of the most surprising of the night.
This new attraction is a big deal for several reasons. Firstly, Disneyland Paris has never had a water ride of this caliber. There has also never been a full-fledged Disney theme park attraction based on The Lion King.
An opening day for the new ride has not yet been revealed, though more information is bound to come out soon now that the attraction is actually being tested.
