It won’t be long before a massive change takes effect at one security checkpoint for Disney Park guests. Construction continues on the overhauled screening area, which affects visitors to one of Disney’s bustling shopping, dining, and entertainment districts.

Disney Security Checkpoint Construction

In April 2025, construction began on a new security screening area at Disney Village, Disneyland Paris Resort’s version of Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort, or the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. Crews completely demolished the old security area before constructing the new structure.

By October, guests saw a new roof appear on the structure from above the construction walls. Aerial photos showed that the structure’s frame had been installed, but work on the concrete flooring in the outdoor area had yet to begin. Equipment and piles of brown dirt littered the site.

Now, months later, the new security screening at Disney Village is nearly complete.

On January 14, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DLPReport shared two photos of the new security screening area at Disney Village. Some of the construction walls surrounding the structure have been removed, allowing Disneyland Paris Resort guests to see the completed painted walls and taped-off, incomplete portions of the building. Hanging lanterns on the structure’s overhang are still wrapped in plastic casing, protecting them during the remaining construction efforts.

🔧 And in the revolving list of ongoing projects, the new Disney Village security gate is nearing completion:

Another set of photos from DLP Works on Facebook shows that crews are focused on installing the “new floor, a large planter, and new gates.” The bag check building is structurally complete, and almost all themed elements have been installed. Disneyland Paris Resort is expected to install security equipment, like metal detectors, once construction is complete.

Disneyland Paris Resort has not announced an exact grand opening date for the new security checkpoint at Disney Village. This project comes amid a season of transformation for the shopping, dining, and entertainment district. Several shops and restaurants are in the midst of modernization efforts, including McDonald’s, Annette’s diner, and the original Disney Store, which will reopen as Disney Wonders, a franchise-based shop.
