Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Monday, law enforcement scanner monitoring X (formerly known as Twitter) account @WDWActiveCrime reported that police were on the scene of a near-drowning at an address on Bonnet Creek Resort Lane in Central Florida. The user posted:

The reported location of the emergency response corresponded to Signia by Hilton Orlando – An Official Walt Disney World Hotel, near Disney Springs. Walt Disney World Resort does not own this property, but includes it in a list of “Good Neighbor hotels” on its website.

The same law enforcement monitoring account later reported that several helicopters were hovering above the scene, including a WESH news helicopter and a medical response aircraft.

Neither Walt Disney World Resort nor Signia by Hilton Orlando has issued a public statement on this incident.

Public police reports often become available about criminal or delinquent activity on Walt Disney World Resort property. However, law enforcement rarely releases any information about incidents involving private medical information, unless someone tragically loses their life.

If the victim of this near-drowning incident recovers in the hospital, local authorities are unlikely to release any more details. However, the patient may choose to identify themselves publicly.

We will report any major updates on this incident if they become available.
