Universal Orlando Resort is facing another lawsuit tied to guest safety.

The Florida theme park destination has seen major changes over the past year following the opening of Epic Universe, which added new transportation routes and increased guest traffic throughout the resort. Universal CityWalk remains the main hub connecting guests to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, hotels, and parking facilities.

The district also serves as a central pathway for guests en route to experience attractions like Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts, Jurassic World VelociCoaster, and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.

Now, another legal complaint has placed one of CityWalk’s busiest guest areas under scrutiny.

Lawsuit Filed Over Alleged Crowd Incident at Universal CityWalk

According to a legal complaint filed on May 8, an alleged incident occurred at Universal Orlando Resort on May 11, 2024, leaving guest Heather Hall “seriously injured.”

The alleged incident happened near the moving walkways leading guests between Universal CityWalk and the resort parking garages.

Hall claims she fell after a crowd was allegedly allowed to gather on the walkway, creating what attorneys described as an “overcrowded and dangerous” situation.

The lawsuit names Comcast Corp. alongside several Universal-related entities, including NBCUniversal Media, LLC, Universal City Development Partners, Ltd., and Universal City Studios LLC.

Attorneys allege the defendants failed to properly maintain the area, supervise employees, and warn guests about the alleged hazard.

Court filings further state the alleged dangerous conditions “were not apparent” to Hall before the incident allegedly occurred.

The complaint additionally argues that the defendants either knew or should have known about the conditions before the alleged fall took place.

Hall is seeking damages exceeding $50,000.

The lawsuit cites alleged bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, medical expenses, lost earnings, and loss of future earning capacity.

A derivative claim filed by her husband, John Hall, was also included in the complaint over the alleged loss of companionship and support connected to the injuries.

Universal Orlando Resort has not publicly commented on the lawsuit.

Other Universal Orlando Lawsuits Have Emerged in Recent Months

The latest complaint is not the first lawsuit involving the moving walkways at Universal CityWalk.

Another lawsuit filed in 2024 accused Universal Orlando Resort of negligence following an alleged incident involving the same walkway system during an April 2022 visit.

Broward County couple Susan and Wayne Moonsie claimed the walkway allegedly came to a “sudden and unexpected complete stop” while guests were traveling toward the resort entrance.

According to the complaint, the sudden stop allegedly caused riders to shake violently.

The lawsuit argued Universal failed to properly inspect and maintain the moving walkway before the alleged incident occurred.

The couple sought damages tied to alleged injuries, medical expenses, pain and suffering, and loss of income.

Universal Orlando Resort has also faced lawsuits connected to attractions elsewhere across the property.

Earlier this year, twin brothers filed separate lawsuits tied to alleged injuries aboard Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry after the attraction allegedly stopped abruptly during operation.

The complaints alleged the riders were thrown in their seats, resulting in neck, back, and other injuries.

Epic Universe also faced legal scrutiny following the September 2025 death of Kevin Rodriguez Zavala aboard Stardust Racers.

The family later filed suit against the park with representation from civil rights attorney Ben Crump.

That investigation into the incident was later closed and ruled an accidental death.
