Lucasfilm Confirms The Mandalorian and Grogu’s Return in New Sequel

The Mandalorian & Grogu (2026) is the lowest-grossing live-action Star Wars film, earning just $345 million worldwide on a reported budget of $165 million.

The film, a continuation of the Disney+ series, also received mixed reviews from audiences and critics, suggesting that Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu are no longer “the way” for Star Wars.

Still, the pair clearly remain popular among fans, as they’re returning across numerous Star Wars projects. With The Mandalorian Season 4 reportedly scrapped and the chances of a continuation on the big screen extremely unlikely, Star Wars fans will just have to get used to seeing the iconic bounty hunter and pint-sized Force-wielder in other mediums of storytelling.

The Mandalorian and Grogu Will Return to Star Wars

Per CBR.com, Din Djarin and Grogu are set to return in yet another new comic following Danger in the Dark, with Delilah S. Dawson returning as writer.

Revealed during San Diego Comic-Con 2026 (per CBR.com), Dawson and illustrator Alessandro Ranaldi are set to deliver a new graphic novel titled The Mandalorian and Grogu: Nightmare on Navarro, which is said to take place between The Mandalorian Season 3 and this year’s film.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian also continues beyond film, television, and comics through LEGO specials, LEGO sets, tabletop games, and card games.

The Mandalorian and Grogu: Nightmare on Navarro will release in October.

Where Can I Watch The Mandalorian & Grogu?

The Mandalorian & Grogu arrived on digital platforms on July 21.

“The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy,” StarWars.com‘s official synopsis for the film reads. “As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.”

Directed by Jon Favreau and written by Dave Filoni, Noah Kloor, and Favreau, the film stars Pedro Pascal (Din Djarin), Sigourney Weaver (Colonel Ward), and Jeremy Allen White (Rotta the Hutt).
