Famous Tinker Bell Character To Be Removed From Disneyland in 30 Days

Guests hoping to meet Tinker Bell at Disneyland Park have faced a shifting schedule over the past several weeks, as Pixie Hollow has moved through a closure, a modified reopening, and now another scheduled shutdown, all without an official explanation from Disney.

The Initial Closure

On July 27, Disneyland Resort updated the official website for the Pixie Hollow meet-and-greet space to reflect a refurbishment closure beginning August 4. Through August 3, the attraction operated on its usual daily schedule, running from 8:15 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. and again from 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. At the time, the Disneyland Resort operational calendar extended through September 7 with no reopening date listed within that window, and Disney did not address a reason for the closure.

A Modified Reopening

Pixie Hollow has since reopened, returning to service on August 7 after being closed since August 4. The reopening did not restore normal daily operations, however. For the remainder of August and into September, the area is closed every Tuesday and Thursday, a pattern that leaves guests with fewer opportunities to meet Tinker Bell than the space’s original seven-day schedule allowed.

On days when Pixie Hollow is open, Tinker Bell continues to meet guests during the same hours as before the closure: 8:15 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The schedule shows a further closure planned for Sunday, September 6, with no reopening date listed beyond that point–the official calendar extends through September 18, and no opening times are listed for any date up to then. Disney has not announced a reason for the modified schedule, the temporary closure that preceded it, or the shutdown scheduled for early September.

A History of Extended Closures

This is not the first time Pixie Hollow has gone dark for an extended stretch. The space was previously closed for nine months, from 2024 into 2025, for a reimagining project. That renovation converted a second meet-and-greet area, formerly used for some of Tinker Bell’s fairy friends, into an extended queue for the primary Tinker Bell encounter. Other fairies have not met with guests at Pixie Hollow since that change took effect.

The recurring pattern of closures, partial schedules, and unreopened secondary spaces suggests Pixie Hollow has been in a state of gradual transition for close to two years, even as Tinker Bell’s core meet-and-greet has remained the draw for most guests visiting the area.

What Guests Should Know Before Visiting

Disneyland Resort has not said whether Tinker Bell will move to a temporary meet-and-greet location during any future closure of Pixie Hollow. Guests planning a visit around a Tinker Bell meet-and-greet should check the specific date against the current Tuesday and Thursday closure pattern before finalizing plans, since the space is not operating on a full daily schedule through the rest of the summer.

Guests visiting Disneyland Park on or after September 6 should build flexibility into their touring plans, as no reopening date has been listed past that point. The most reliable way to confirm same-day hours is through the Disneyland Resort app or by asking a character attendant near Fantasyland for the latest schedule.

Whether the current disruptions reflect ongoing refurbishment work or something unrelated, Disney has yet to offer guests a clear explanation. Until an official statement is issued, Pixie Hollow’s schedule should be treated as subject to change with little advance notice.
