Excitement is already building for Season 3 of Wednesday, and Netflix has given fans another reason to start counting down the days. After the massive success of the first two seasons, the streaming giant has officially confirmed a wave of familiar faces joining Jenna Ortega for the next chapter of Nevermore Academy.

While returning favorites will once again anchor the story, Season 3 is expanding its cast with several actors audiences already know from some of television’s biggest franchises. From Game of Thrones veterans to a beloved Stranger Thingsstar, the new additions suggest the series is continuing to raise the bar.

Netflix is still keeping many story details under wraps, but the latest casting announcements offer plenty of clues about where the supernatural mystery is headed next.

The Core Cast Is Returning for Another Mystery

Before introducing new faces, Wednesday will reunite viewers with many of the characters who helped make the series one of Netflix’s biggest hits. Wednesday’s closest friends, rivals, family members, and longtime allies are all expected to return for another season filled with strange creatures, dangerous secrets, and plenty of gothic humor.

  • Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega)
  • Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers)
  • Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones)
  • Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán)
  • Pugsley Addams (Isaac Ordonez)
  • Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan)
  • Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday)
  • Eugene Ottinger (Moosa Mostafa)
  • Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen)
  • Thing (Victor Dorobantu)

With so much of the original cast returning, Season 3 appears ready to continue several storylines that were left unresolved while also introducing new mysteries that stretch beyond Nevermore Academy.

Eva Green and Winona Ryder Lead the New Arrivals

Although Netflix has announced several additions, two names have generated the most conversation among fans.

Eva Green will portray Aunt Ophelia, Morticia’s long-lost sister, who was believed to be missing. According to Netflix, Ophelia’s disappearance has left lasting emotional scars on the Addams Family, and her reemergence is expected to reshape the family’s story. Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar have described her arrival as something that will “hit this family like a bomb,” making her one of Season 3’s central figures.

Winona Ryder has also joined the cast as a mysterious new character named Tabitha. Netflix has revealed little beyond her name, but Ryder’s addition reunites her with Jenna Ortega following their work together in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024). It also marks another collaboration with executive producer Tim Burton, who has directed Ryder in multiple projects throughout his career.

Both actresses bring decades of experience in supernatural, fantasy, and gothic storytelling, making them natural fits for the world of Wednesday.

More Familiar Stars Are Joining Nevermore

Netflix also announced several additional cast members, although many of their characters remain surrounded by mystery.

  • Chris Sarandon as Balthazar — Sarandon, best known for The Princess Bride (1987), joins the series in a newly revealed role.
  • Noah Taylor as Cyrus — Recognized for Game of Thrones and Peaky Blinders, he’ll portray another new character whose connection to the story remains secret.
  • Oscar Morgan as Atticus — Known for Gotham Knights and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Morgan joins the expanding younger cast.
  • Lena Headey — The Game of Thrones star has been confirmed for a guest-starring role, though Netflix has not announced who she will play.
  • Kennedy Moyer as Daisy — Previously seen in Task and Roofman, Moyer is another newcomer entering the world of Nevermore.
  • James Lance — Best known for Ted Lasso, Lance will appear in a guest-starring role that remains under wraps.
  • Andrew McCarthy — The St. Elmo’s Fire (1985) actor is also joining Season 3 in a guest-starring role.

At this point, Netflix has only revealed character names for some of these additions. Several roles remain a secret. Showrunners have only teased that Season 3 introduces new students, new teachers, and more long-buried Addams Family secrets.

Where Season 3 Will Pick Up

Season 3 is expected to continue directly after the dramatic ending of Season 2 rather than jumping ahead. The biggest storyline revolves around the disappearance and return of Aunt Ophelia, whose reappearance promises to answer long-standing questions while creating even more problems for Wednesday and her family.

Netflix has also teased that viewers will see new students and faculty members arrive at Nevermore Academy while the Addams Family becomes even more central to the story. Hidden family history, darker mysteries, and supernatural threats all appear set to play major roles.

The streamer has even previewed a brief European detour, with Wednesday heading to Paris during part of the season before the action returns to familiar territory. Exactly how that trip connects to the larger mystery remains one of the biggest unanswered questions.

Season 3 Is Becoming the Series’ Biggest Yet

With Jenna Ortega returning alongside nearly every major cast member, Wednesday Season 3 already looked like one of Netflix’s biggest upcoming releases. Adding performers like Winona Ryder, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, James Lance, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer only heightens anticipation.

While Netflix continues to keep many story details hidden, one thing is already clear: Nevermore Academy is about to welcome its biggest class of newcomers yet, and several of them could change Wednesday Addams’ world in ways fans never expected.
