Disneyland is sending a much stronger message to guests riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure following a troubling series of incidents in which children left their seats.
What began with one frightening situation has now become a recurring safety problem. Three separate incidents have taken place in a matter of months, forcing Disneyland to take action around the popular flume ride.
The latest response is difficult to miss. New warnings have appeared throughout the attraction area, and Disneyland is making it clear that breaking one of the ride’s most basic safety rules can now bring a guest’s entire park day to an immediate end.
First Incident Ended With a Child in the Hospital
The first major incident happened on June 21, 2026, and quickly demonstrated just how dangerous leaving a ride vehicle can become.
A 13-year-old boy climbed out of his log shortly before Tiana’s Bayou Adventure reached its 50-foot drop. The child then slid down the waterfall, creating a frightening scene at the attraction.
He was hospitalized as a precaution following the incident. Thankfully, he suffered only minor injuries and was later released.
The situation could have ended much differently, considering the height, moving ride vehicles, and other hazards throughout the attraction.
Disneyland already instructs guests to remain seated during the ride. However, the June incident apparently wasn’t enough to prevent similar behavior from happening again.

Two More Incidents Followed
Another child climbed out of a Tiana’s Bayou Adventure boat in July while the attraction was operating.
Cast members spotted what was happening through the ride’s security camera system and immediately stopped the attraction. No injuries were reported during that incident.
Then came a third situation in August.
This time, children reportedly stood up inside their ride vehicle near the final lift hill. Cast members intervened before the situation could escalate, but Disneyland’s response went beyond simply stopping the attraction or removing the guests from the ride.
The entire family was removed from the resort.
With three incidents now occurring within a relatively short period, Disneyland has escalated its warnings to everyone entering the attraction.

Disneyland Posts Urgent New Warning
Disneyland has now established a firm consequence for guests who attempt to leave their ride vehicle or refuse to remain seated on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: removal from the park.
On August 18, 2026, 12 signs were posted around the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure area, making the warning visible before guests board.
The sign reads:
Attention
This attraction is a turbulent flume ride with
- High Speeds
- Heights
- Sudden Drops
- Stops
Remain seated at all times.
Failure to stay seated will result in removal from the park.
That final sentence leaves little room for confusion.
Disneyland isn’t simply reminding guests that standing is prohibited. The resort warns that anyone who refuses to remain seated may lose access to the park altogether. That consequence makes the new warning considerably stronger than the typical safety reminders guests hear before boarding an attraction.
The number of signs also shows how seriously Disneyland is treating the issue. Rather than relying solely on standard ride instructions, the resort is posting the warning throughout the area so guests understand the consequences before getting on board. With multiple signs surrounding the attraction, guests now have several opportunities to see the policy before entering the ride vehicle.
Could Even More Restrictions Come Next?
Disneyland Draws a Firm Line
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure sends riders through drops, lifts, and fast-moving sections where standing or leaving a vehicle can quickly create a dangerous situation.
After the June incident led to a hospital visit, two additional incidents showed the problem had not disappeared.
Disneyland’s newest response puts the responsibility directly in front of riders before they board.
With 12 signs now surrounding the attraction and removal from the park established as the consequence, Disneyland has drawn a firm line. Guests who choose to ignore the safety instructions aren’t simply risking an attraction shutdown anymore.
They could be ending their Disneyland visit early.
