Mass Security and Police Presence at Disney’s Oogie Boogie Bash, Woman “Roughly” Removed From Park

An incident unfolded at Disneyland Resort this week, leading to multiple security members removing one guest from the park.

The incident occurred at Disney California Adventure Park on Thursday (August 27). Parkgoers took to Reddit and TikTok to detail the events, which apparently took place during the Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween party.

What Happened at Disneyland Resort?

Judging by the accounts and footage, an intoxicated female guest was removed from the park after causing disruption. While this isn’t exactly a rare occurrence at Disney (the same thing seems to unfold at EPCOT on a near-daily basis), what makes this more unusual is the fact that roughly 10 security cast members were required to escort the guest off property.

“This was my first time yesterday going to the Oogie Boogie Bash and through the main thoroughfare near the DVC booth was a woman being escorted, crying through the street,” one guest said on Reddit. “She was accompanied/pushed through by 3 non-Disney police officers and further escorted by approximately 10 Disney Security members and what looked like 2 Disney Managers.”

While being removed from the park, the woman allegedly “attempted to turn around to go back into the park or slip down a side street as she was escorted and had to be more roughly escorted by police officers.”

The scene was detailed as being “very reminiscent of the Game of Thrones shame scene as she was marched down the street.”

On TikTok, a separate parkgoer shared video footage of the guest’s removal.

The guest is shown being escorted through a backstage entry point at the top of Hollywood Land.

It’s unclear what happened before the guest’s removal. However, the same parkgoer who initially reported the incident on Reddit claimed that it looked like she was coming from paradise Garden Park and was “sobbing hysterically.” The guest “repeatedly tried to turn around as if to make something right or apologize” before trying to escape via Avengers Campus.

Another TikTok user, who was seemingly also in the park, wrote, “She was in the restrooms for 25 minutes by the winery. Security was out there waiting for her. She ran out, and took off. Since security can’t touch her, PD came by.”

Judging by the fact that it’s daylight in the video footage, the incident either unfolded before Oogie Boogie Bash started for the evening or in its early hours.

Disney California Adventure has earned something of a reputation for being Disneyland Resort’s boozier park. Unlike Disneyland Park, alcohol is widely available from bars, restaurants, and festival booths, and guests regularly joke online about drinking their way around DCA. That reputation has also produced plenty of viral stories about guests who appear to have overindulged, particularly during the park’s seasonal food and drink festivals.

Recent Incidents at Disney

This is far from the first intoxicated guest to run into trouble at Disney in recent months.

In March, a video went viral after showing an allegedly intoxicated man body-slamming and kicking a door, as well as trying to break it in with a suitcase, at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort in Florida. Law enforcement later arrived on the scene, but it’s unclear whether the guest was arrested or removed from the property.

Meanwhile, in January, it was reported that a man had been arrested at Disney Springs in December after allegedly refusing to leave a restaurant known as The Polite Pig.

The guest in question had reportedly reacted poorly after being told he was cut off from bar service.
