Walt Disney World is getting ready to reopen a familiar dining location at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, but guests who remember the restaurant from before its refurbishment are going to find several changes waiting for them.

The Turf Club Bar and Grill is scheduled to reopen on September 30 following its refurbishment, and Disney has now revealed the restaurant’s updated menu. While many familiar offerings remain, several dishes have been replaced entirely as Disney prepares to welcome guests back.

The changes extend across appetizers, entrées, desserts, and cocktails, making this more than a simple reopening with the same menu guests remember.

The Turf Club Bar and Grill Returns September 30

The Turf Club Bar and Grill has long been one of the table-service options at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.

Disney themed the restaurant around turn-of-the-century Upstate New York and racing culture, with vintage equestrian memorabilia helping establish its identity. Guests can also get views overlooking the golf course greens, Lake Buena Vista, and Disney Springs.

Now, the restaurant is preparing for its next chapter.

The Turf Club Lounge already reopened last month, while The Turf Club Bar and Grill will officially follow on September 30.

Along with the refurbished location comes a revised menu featuring several direct replacements for dishes that guests could previously order.

Disney Replaces Several Familiar Entrées

Some of the biggest changes can be found on the entrée menu.

The Bourbon-Apple Glazed Pork Chop has been removed and replaced by a Braised Pork Shank. The new dish comes with New York cheddar grits and a bacon-bourbon glaze.

Disney has also replaced the Char-grilled New York Strip Steak with a Char-grilled Butcher’s Steak. The new steak is served alongside roasted garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and house-made steak sauce.

Another significant change affects the restaurant’s plant-based selection. The Tempura-fried Hen of the Wood Mushroom is gone, with Spinach and Mushroom Linguini taking its place. That new dish features mushroom “cream” sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, and basil-tofu “ricotta.”

Finally, the former Buttermilk-fried Herb Chicken has been replaced by Corn Flake-breaded Fried Chicken and Waffle. The new version comes with roasted jalapeño maple syrup and candied bacon butter.

Those replacements mean returning guests may recognize the general style of The Turf Club menu, but they won’t necessarily find the exact meal they ordered during a previous visit.

Other Saratoga Springs Favorites Are Staying

Disney isn’t replacing everything.

Slow-roasted Prime Rib remains on the menu and comes with a baked potato, seasonal vegetables, au jus, and horseradish sauce.

Guests can also order Smoked Salmon-wrapped Halibut with seasonal risotto and citrus beurre blanc, as well as Pappardelle Shrimp Pasta featuring shrimp, asparagus, and truffle sauce.

The Turf Club Burger is sticking around as well. It comes with applewood-smoked bacon, New York white cheddar, house-made pickles, onion straws, lettuce, and tomato, with seasoned waffle fries on the side.

However, Disney has eliminated several entrée enhancements. Caramelized Scallops with Bacon Glaze, Parmesan-crusted Shrimp, and the Turf Club Butter Board have all been removed from the updated lineup.

That makes the September 30 reopening something of a reset for the restaurant rather than simply a return to business as usual.

Appetizer Changes Are Coming Too

The replacements begin before guests ever reach the entrée portion of their meal.

Crispy Chicken Wings are joining the appetizer menu, while the Onion Ring Tower has been removed. Guests ordering the wings can choose buffalo or garlic-Parmesan sauce, with blue cheese and celery served alongside them.

Sweet-and-Spicy Brussels Sprouts, French Onion Soup, Wedge Salad, Golden-fried Calamari with Shishito Peppers, and Lemon Butter Shrimp round out the appetizer offerings.

Disney is also incorporating ingredients connected to EPCOT into the experience. The Wedge Salad includes a marigold garnish from The Land Pavilion at EPCOT, while the halibut entrée features a nasturtium garnish from The Land Pavilion.

It’s a relatively small detail, but it creates another connection between the resort dining experience and Walt Disney World’s theme parks.

Disney Completely Replaces the Dessert Lineup

Perhaps the clearest example of just how much is changing comes at the end of the meal.

Disney has completely revamped The Turf Club Bar and Grill’s dessert menu.

The Signature Chocolate Cake is gone. In its place is a Chocolate-Hazelnut Cake featuring hazelnut mousse and berry sauce.

The former New York-style Cheesecake has become Vanilla Bean Cheesecake, served with strawberry sauce and graham crumb.

Salted Caramel Crème Brûlée has also been removed and replaced by Salted Caramel Pot de Crème. Meanwhile, the Seasonal Cobbler has made way for a plant-based Apple Tart served with caramel sauce, streusel, and “gelato.”

For guests who regularly visited The Turf Club before the refurbishment, this portion of the menu will effectively be brand new.

New Drinks Join the Menu

Disney didn’t stop with the food.

The cocktail menu is changing as well, including the removal of Sparkling Lavender Rosé.

The Millionaire Margarita has been replaced by the Winner’s Circle Margarita. Disney has also introduced several new drinks, including the Saratoga Cocktail, New York Old Fashioned, and Grandstand Martini.

The names fit naturally with the Saratoga Springs and racing theme.

The Saratoga Cocktail combines rye whiskey, cognac, sweet vermouth, and bitters, while the New York Old Fashioned uses bourbon, demerara, and Angostura bitters. The Grandstand Martini combines vodka, dry vermouth, olive brine, and blue cheese olives.

Other selections include the New York Sour, Blood Orange Margarita, Piña CoLAVA, Mint Julep, and Pineapple Mule.

There are also dessert cocktails, beer, hard seltzer, wine, non-alcoholic specialties, and Joffrey’s coffee options.

Saratoga Springs Is Getting a Refreshed Dining Experience

The Turf Club Bar and Grill reopening isn’t introducing a completely different restaurant to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. The location’s racing-inspired identity remains intact, and several established dishes are staying.

But Disney clearly used the refurbishment as an opportunity to replace a substantial portion of what guests previously knew.

Some of the most recognizable entrée choices have changed. The appetizer lineup has been adjusted. Several enhancements have disappeared. New cocktails have arrived.

And the entire dessert menu has essentially been replaced.

That should make September 30 more interesting for returning Saratoga Springs guests than a typical restaurant reopening.

The Turf Club has traditionally been somewhat removed from the busiest Walt Disney World dining destinations. It isn’t sitting along Main Street, U.S.A., inside World Showcase, or in the middle of Disney Springs. Instead, it offers a quieter resort dining experience with views that fit naturally with Saratoga Springs.

That basic formula isn’t changing.

What guests actually find on their plates, however, could look noticeably different.

With The Turf Club Lounge already back in operation and The Turf Club Bar and Grill reopening September 30, Disney is now preparing to complete the return of this dining area at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.

For longtime visitors, that means an old Saratoga Springs restaurant is coming back — just not with all of the same food it had before.
