It’s no wonder that Disney officials don’t mind the softer attendance at the parks if this is how guests are acting.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass remains Disney’s most expensive line-skipping product at Walt Disney World, yet demand at Magic Kingdom–and other parks on major holidays–shows guests are still willing to pay for it when the value is clear. The pass grants one-time access to the Lightning Lane entrance at each participating attraction without booking return times, and its price shifts with demand. Over the next four weeks, Magic Kingdom pricing ranges from $299 to $429, with several mid-October dates already at the top of that range.

The recent sellout on Saturday, October 3, was a clear example of how and why guests snapped up the pricey passes. With no Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party that night, Magic Kingdom operated from 7:30 a.m. Early Theme Park Entry until 11 p.m., offering a 15-and-a-half-hour day. On party dates, day guests must leave by 6 p.m., which shortens the window for using a pass priced per day.

October 3 was also the cheapest upcoming Saturday at $379, $50 less per person than October 10 and October 17. For a family of four, that saving reaches $200. The takeaway was clear: guests favor non-party, extended-hour dates, and anyone planning to buy Premier Pass this month should book as early as possible.

Looking ahead, reports have already confirmed multiple sellouts for the Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Premier Pass over the Columbus Day holiday weekend. Initially, four consecutive days had sold out, with a fifth now added to that string of dates. From October 8, 2026, through October 12 (Columbus Day itself), guests have sold out the Premier Pass for Magic Kingdom. This means there is no more expedited entry for attractions like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure via the Premier Pass option.

Similarly, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT are showing increasing sellouts for their Premier Pass option. The $249 Premier Pass at EPCOT is sold out from October 9 through October 11, with October 12 expected to go before the park opens on Columbus Day. Meanwhile, at Hollywood Studios, the park is sold out of the Premier Pass for four days: October 9 through October 12.

For guests who may want to experience select attractions, the Lightning Lane Multi Pass is still available for all theme parks at Disney World, at the time of publication. That said, the Multi Pass operates on a tiered system and does not include attractions under Disney’s Single Pass banner. The Single Pass attractions include TRON Lightcycle / Run and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios, and Avatar Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom.

However, if guests missed the chance to purchase the Premier Pass (which includes one-time access to the Single Pass experiences), the Single Pass is also heavily sold out across the board. Single Passes for both Magic Kingdom attractions are sold out for six consecutive days from October 8 through October 13, with the Snow White coaster also sold out on Thursday, October 15.

At EPCOT, Cosmic Rewind is sold out for five consecutive days from October 8 through October 12, with Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios matching this pattern and also posting a sell-out notice on Wednesday, October 14. While Animal Kingdom still has full availability for the Premier Pass, Flight of Passage’s Single Pass is currently sold out for Saturday, October 10.

The consistent sellout of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass during busier stretches at the parks is part of Disney Experiences’ current revenue model. With guest attendance softer overall, these costly add-ons ensure that spending per guest is higher, resulting in a stronger bottom line.

All prices and availability are correct at the time of publishing.

About Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
