Walt Disney World is preparing to welcome an entirely new resort next summer, and guests can officially start planning their stays.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge has been one of the most anticipated additions to the resort’s hotel lineup, promising a completely different atmosphere from what many visitors have come to expect. With waterfront accommodations, Disney-inspired rooms, and plenty of recreation options, the property could quickly become a popular choice for families planning their next vacation.

However, until now, not everyone has been able to make a reservation.

That changed on Thursday, October 8, 2026, when Disney officially opened reservations for the general public, giving all guests the opportunity to secure a room ahead of the resort’s grand opening.

And with its opening date less than a year away, families hoping to experience Disney’s newest hotel may want to start looking at their options.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Reservations Are Officially Open

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is scheduled to welcome its first guests on July 1, 2027, bringing a brand-new accommodation option to Walt Disney World.

Located along the shores of Bay Lake, the resort will sit between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

That location gives guests the opportunity to enjoy a more relaxed setting while remaining close to Magic Kingdom.

According to WDWMAGIC, reservations officially became available to everyone on October 8, meaning guests no longer have to wait for a special booking window to open.

Previously, Disney Vacation Club Members received access to reservations on October 6, followed by Annual Passholders on October 7. Now, the general public can join them in securing accommodations.

Guests interested in booking can visit Disney’s official website or call (407) 934-7639 to explore available rooms and dates.

Of course, pricing will depend on several factors, including the dates of the visit, the type of accommodation selected, and the view offered by the room.

Disney has not established one flat rate for every stay, so families will need to compare their options before deciding which accommodation best fits their vacation budget.

Still, the opening of general reservations marks an important milestone as Disney prepares to introduce another major resort to its Florida property.

Nearly 1,000 Rooms Will Offer Something for Different Families

One of the biggest selling points of Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is the variety of accommodations.

Rather than focusing exclusively on traditional hotel rooms, Disney is introducing several options designed for different travel groups.

The property will feature 967 rooms, ranging from smaller studios to spacious villas and freestanding waterfront accommodations.

Guests traveling alone or as a couple may find the duo studios particularly appealing.

These rooms will feature inspiration from Disney’s Encanto (2021) and accommodate up to two guests, making them an option for visitors who do not need a large amount of space.

Families looking for more room will have several additional choices, including resort studios, deluxe studios, and one- or two-bedroom villas.

For larger groups, Disney is introducing three-bedroom grand villas inspired by Fantasia (1940).

These accommodations can sleep up to 12 people, making them particularly attractive for extended families or groups traveling together.

Instead of booking several separate hotel rooms, larger parties may prefer the convenience of staying in one spacious villa.

However, perhaps the most interesting accommodations at the new resort are the waterfront Lake Houses.

Disney Is Introducing Waterfront Lake Houses

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will feature freestanding A-frame Lake Houses positioned directly along Bay Lake.

These accommodations will draw inspiration from Disney’s Brother Bear (2003), bringing another animated classic into the resort’s overall design.

Unlike a standard hotel room, the Lake Houses will provide a separate lodging experience with a distinctive architectural style.

Disney designed these accommodations to sleep either five or eight guests, depending on the specific Lake House selected.

For families who enjoy spending time outside the theme parks, staying along the waterfront could become a major part of the vacation itself.

Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the resort’s natural surroundings while remaining within Walt Disney World.

The Lake Houses also give Disney another way to appeal to travelers who want something beyond a typical hotel stay.

Of course, their waterfront location and unique design could make them particularly desirable, especially during busy travel periods.

Guests interested in these accommodations should pay close attention to availability as reservations continue to open for future stays.

Disney’s New Resort Will Feature Pools, a Lazy River, and More

While the rooms will certainly attract attention, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will offer plenty of reasons to spend time outside them.

The resort’s outdoor recreation area, known as The Wetlands, will include several swimming and relaxation options.

One of the main attractions will be Lakeside Lagoon, a zero-entry swimming pool featuring a spiral waterslide.

A zero-entry design allows guests to enter the water gradually, similar to walking into the shallow end of a beach.

Families looking for something a little more relaxing can visit Daydream River, the resort’s lazy river.

This addition could be especially appealing during Florida’s warmer months, when guests may want to spend an afternoon cooling off instead of waiting in theme park lines.

Younger visitors will also have dedicated play areas.

Heron Shores and Otter Springs will feature inspiration from Disney’s Pocahontas (1995), giving children additional places to splash and play.

Meanwhile, Perspective Pond will offer a leisure pool with views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.

That feature could become one of the resort’s most memorable experiences.

Rather than heading into Magic Kingdom every evening, some guests may prefer to enjoy the nighttime fireworks from the comfort of their resort.

Between the lazy river, waterslide, children’s areas, and leisure pool, Disney appears to be creating a property where families can comfortably spend an entire day without entering a theme park.

Several Restaurants and Lounges Are Coming to Lakeshore Lodge

Dining will also play an important role in the new resort experience.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will offer several locations ranging from quick meals to sit-down dining and lounges.

Moonglade will serve as the property’s lakefront table-service restaurant, giving guests another dining option along Bay Lake.

For visitors looking for something quicker, Bay Lake Provisions will operate as a quick-service marketplace.

This location could be especially convenient for families who want to grab something to eat before leaving for the parks or returning to their rooms.

Guests spending the afternoon near the swimming pools will also have access to Paint Out Point Bar & Grill.

Meanwhile, Branch & Brush will offer a cocktail lounge experience, giving adults another place to relax after a long day exploring Walt Disney World.

The resort will also feature Dandelion Terrace, a fireworks lounge where guests can enjoy views of Magic Kingdom’s nighttime entertainment.

With multiple dining options available, guests won’t necessarily need to leave the property whenever they want a meal or a place to unwind.

The combination of waterfront dining, casual food options, and lounges could also make Lakeshore Lodge appealing to guests staying at nearby Disney resorts.

Getting to Magic Kingdom Will Be Convenient

Transportation is another important factor when choosing where to stay at Walt Disney World.

Fortunately, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will offer direct boat transportation to Magic Kingdom.

This connection could make the property especially attractive to families planning to spend considerable time at Disney’s most popular theme park.

Instead of relying entirely on buses or driving, guests will have another way to reach the park.

The boat ride will also allow visitors to experience Bay Lake from the water, adding another relaxing element to their vacation.

The resort’s location near Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground places it within an established Disney resort area.

That means guests will be staying near other popular accommodations while enjoying a completely new hotel experience.

For families with young children, transportation convenience can make a significant difference, particularly when returning to the resort for an afternoon break.

Of course, guests should still plan ahead and allow sufficient travel time when heading to dining reservations, Lightning Lane experiences, or other scheduled activities.

What Does This Mean for Guests Planning a 2027 Disney World Vacation?

With reservations now available to everyone, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge has moved another step closer to becoming a reality.

The resort will officially open on July 1, 2027, adding 967 accommodations to Walt Disney World’s extensive hotel collection.

Between the Encanto (2021)-inspired studios, spacious Fantasia (1940) villas, and waterfront Lake Houses themed to Brother Bear (2003), guests will have several ways to experience the property.

The pools, lazy river, dining locations, and direct transportation to Magic Kingdom only add to its appeal.

However, travelers should remember that room rates and availability will vary depending on when they plan to visit and which accommodations they select.

Families hoping to stay during the resort’s opening weeks or other popular vacation periods may want to explore their options sooner rather than later.

Reservations are now available through Disney’s official Walt Disney World website or by calling Disney directly.

After years of anticipation, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is finally approaching its grand opening, and guests now have the chance to secure their place at Walt Disney World’s newest resort before its doors officially open next summer.
