With just over two weeks remaining before Tiana’s Bayou Adventure temporarily shuts down on November 2, 2026, for an extended multi-week refurbishment, Walt Disney World maintenance teams are working behind the scenes at Magic Kingdom. Rather than letting the $100+ million log flume coast into its scheduled break, Disney Imagineering and park crews are actively restoring broken effects and missing characters in real time for daily crowds.

Replacing Splash Mountain in Frontierland was always going to bring intense public scrutiny, and the attraction’s initial months have seen a mix of frozen Audio-Animatronics, missing set pieces, and disabled water features. But fresh on-the-ground reports reveal that Disney is pulling out all the stops to fix lingering show-quality issues before the ride goes dark for its major fall overhaul.

Direct Eyewitness Updates: Lari Returns and Jumping Fountains Restored

Daily parkgoers and theme park observers have closely tracked the latest developments along the bayou circuit. Theme park enthusiast RockNstardust (@CoasterK24 on X) captured the state of the attraction, highlighting significant progress alongside a few remaining mechanical hurdles:

“Happy to see the static figure Lari has returned to the Tiana finale scene. Also the Laughin Place jumping fountains got restored after being broken for several months. The outside waterfall has turned off and standing Tiana is going on 2 months of being static”

  • Lari the Armadillo Returns: Lari—a completely static prop positioned near the grand Mardi Gras finale scene—had been missing from his post for weeks. His sudden return to the finale confirms that maintenance teams are actively reinstalling missing set pieces during overnight operational windows.
  • Jumping Water Fountains Restored: In a major win for the ride’s physical kinetic effects, the famous “jumping water fountains”—a legacy water feature from the former Laughing Place section rethemed into Tiana’s story—have officially been restored after being broken for several months.
  • The 2-Month “Static Tiana” Issue: Despite these fixes, challenges remain. The standing Princess Tiana Audio-Animatronic figure has been locked in a non-moving pose for almost two full months, rather than gesturing fluidly to passing logs. Additionally, the main exterior waterfall on the mountain’s facade has been turned off, likely in preparation for upcoming plumbing maintenance during the November closure.

What the November 2 Refurbishment Will Fix

Why perform these fixes now? Magic Kingdom is currently experiencing heavy Fall Break crowds, making Tiana’s Bayou Adventure vital for daily crowd capacity. Overnight repairs allow Disney to maintain overall show quality without closing the high-capacity ride early.

Disney has officially scheduled the upcoming shutdown to run from November 2 through mid-December 2026. During this period, engineering teams will perform deep robotic recalibrations on the next-generation A1000 animatronics (specifically fixing the static Tiana figure), service the exterior water pumps, and realign audio-visual triggers.

Once the gates lock on November 2, full-scale restoration work will begin—aiming for a flawless reopening in time for the peak Christmas holiday crowds in December.
