The new store fills a Town Center storefront that sat empty for months after the departure of Shore, one of the previous tenants of the Walt Disney World Resort shopping, dining, and entertainment district.

From Shore to Vuori

Shore was among the first third-party retailers to open in Town Center when the neighborhood debuted in 2016, roughly a year after Disney rebranded the outdoor complex formerly known as Downtown Disney as Disney Springs. The resort-style clothing store closed permanently in May following a clearance sale, though the brand still operates a location in Longboat Key, Florida, alongside its online shop.

Shortly after Shore’s closure, a construction permit pointed to Vuori as a likely replacement. Disney Springs confirmed the news in the summer, announcing on its official Instagram account that Vuori was “coming soon” to the former Shore space.

The Disney Parks Blog confirmed its opening on its latest Halloween activity post. “Vuori opens today at Disney Springs, bringing its popular collection of performance apparel and lifestyle essentials to Town Center,” the post reads. “Whether you’re heading out for a morning workout or a day exploring Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll find comfortable styles there designed to help you look and feel your best.”

The Road to Opening

The summer was largely quiet at the site, with advertisements for the upcoming Vuori store the only sign of change. In September, however, work picked up. The awnings above the storefront were repainted, seemingly in preparation for new signage, and reports showed the blocked-off storefront with its freshly painted awnings.

On September 28, Walt Disney World Resort filed a Notice of Commencement for the “installation of signage” at 1530 E. Buena Vista Dr. #1H, the address of the former Shore location. The filing named Shark Signs as the third-party vendor handling the installation. Just under three weeks later, Vuori opened its doors.

What This Means for You

Guests visiting Disney Springs can now browse Vuori’s athletic and lifestyle apparel in Town Center, adding another activewear option to the district’s growing lineup of retailers.

About Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
