Walt Disney World is preparing to welcome an entirely new resort in 2027, and Disney has already started revealing some of the special benefits guests can expect when they arrive.

With construction continuing around Bay Lake, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is shaping up to become one of the resort’s biggest additions in years. The new hotel will offer a mix of accommodations, dining experiences, recreation, and transportation options, giving families another place to stay during their Disney World vacations.

However, the resort’s accommodations aren’t the only reason guests may want to consider booking a stay.

Disney has officially confirmed another vacation benefit for Lakeshore Lodge guests, adding to an already growing list of perks available at the upcoming property.

The latest announcement could be especially appealing to families planning a summer vacation, particularly those looking to get more value out of their Disney World hotel reservation.

Disney World Adds Lakeshore Lodge to Free Water Park Benefit

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will officially participate in Walt Disney World’s complimentary water park admission benefit when the resort opens in 2027.

According to Disney’s website, guests staying at the new resort will qualify for free admission to one of Disney World’s water parks on their hotel check-in day during the applicable summer benefit period.

That means eligible visitors will have the opportunity to visit either Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon without purchasing a separate water park ticket.

For families already spending a considerable amount of money on accommodations, theme park admission, dining, and transportation, this additional benefit could make a difference when planning their vacation.

Instead of spending their arrival day waiting for their hotel room or purchasing another theme park ticket, guests could head straight to a water park and enjoy several hours of entertainment.

The benefit also gives visitors another option if they arrive in Orlando earlier than expected.

Rather than trying to fit a full day at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom into their schedule, families could spend their first afternoon enjoying water slides, swimming pools, and other water park attractions.

However, there is an important detail guests should keep in mind.

Disney has not yet announced the official beginning and ending dates for its 2027 summer water park benefit.

In 2026, the complimentary admission offer ran from May 26 through September 8. Disney announced those dates in January, giving families several months to prepare their vacation plans.

While the company has confirmed that Lakeshore Lodge will participate in the 2027 program, guests should wait for the official dates before assuming their reservation qualifies.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Will Open July 1, 2027

The newest addition to Disney World’s hotel lineup is scheduled to welcome its first guests on July 1, 2027.

That opening date places Lakeshore Lodge right in the middle of the summer travel season, when families frequently visit Central Florida during school vacations.

It also means the resort could begin welcoming guests while Disney’s complimentary water park benefit is available, depending on the dates Disney eventually announces.

The timing is particularly interesting because Lakeshore Lodge will offer visitors a completely new experience in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area.

Disney is building the property along the shores of Bay Lake, giving guests access to a waterfront setting with several recreational opportunities.

The resort will also incorporate nature-inspired storytelling, drawing inspiration from several beloved Disney movies.

Those films include Bambi (1942), Pocahontas (1995), Brother Bear (2003), and Encanto (2021).

Rather than focusing on one particular movie or character, the property will bring together elements from multiple Disney stories that celebrate nature, family, and the outdoors.

This approach should help Lakeshore Lodge establish an identity that feels different from many of the existing hotels across Walt Disney World.

And while its setting and accommodations will certainly attract attention, Disney is also making sure guests receive several of the same vacation advantages available at its other participating resort hotels.

Early Theme Park Entry Confirmed for Lakeshore Lodge Guests

The complimentary water park benefit isn’t the only advantage Disney has announced for Lakeshore Lodge.

Earlier in October, Disney confirmed that the new resort will participate in Early Theme Park Entry.

This benefit allows registered guests staying at participating Disney Resort hotels and select other properties to enter Walt Disney World’s theme parks 30 minutes before their regular opening times.

Although half an hour might not sound like much, it can make a difference for visitors hoping to experience popular attractions before the parks become more crowded.

For example, guests who arrive early may have an opportunity to experience select attractions before regular admission guests enter the park.

This can help families get a head start on their day, especially when they have a long list of rides and experiences they want to enjoy.

The benefit applies throughout an eligible hotel stay, including check-in and check-out days.

However, guests still need valid theme park admission to take advantage of the additional time.

Early Theme Park Entry is also limited to participating attractions, meaning visitors shouldn’t assume every ride or experience will be available during that period.

Still, for families planning several days at Disney World, having access to Early Theme Park Entry could make Lakeshore Lodge an appealing accommodation option.

And Disney has confirmed another benefit that could be even more valuable for visitors who prefer spending time in the parks after sunset.

Extended Evening Theme Park Hours Also Included

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge guests will also qualify for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, another perk typically associated with Disney’s higher-end resort accommodations.

This benefit allows eligible hotel guests to remain inside select Walt Disney World theme parks beyond their regularly scheduled closing times on designated evenings.

Extended Evening Theme Park Hours are available to registered guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, and certain other participating hotels.

Unlike Early Theme Park Entry, which provides additional access before regular park opening, this program gives eligible guests more time to experience attractions later in the evening.

For visitors who don’t enjoy waking up early, the benefit offers another way to fit additional rides into their vacation.

It may also appeal to families who prefer returning to their hotel during the afternoon before heading back to the parks later in the day.

However, Extended Evening Theme Park Hours aren’t offered at every park each night.

Disney determines which parks will participate and publishes the applicable dates and operating hours through its official calendar.

Guests planning to stay at Lakeshore Lodge should check that schedule before building their itinerary around the additional evening access.

Between Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, and the complimentary water park benefit, Disney is giving future Lakeshore Lodge visitors several reasons to consider the new property.

What Else Will Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Offer?

Beyond the confirmed guest benefits, Lakeshore Lodge will introduce several amenities designed to make the resort a destination of its own.

Disney has announced plans for a variety of accommodations, including resort studios, villas, and lake houses.

These different room options will give visitors more flexibility when choosing accommodations that fit their family’s needs.

The property will also feature multiple dining locations, allowing guests to enjoy meals without necessarily leaving the resort.

For those interested in spending time outside, Disney is planning several recreational experiences.

Pools and a lazy river are among the amenities announced for the property, giving families opportunities to relax between theme park visits.

The lazy river could become a particularly popular feature during Orlando’s warmer months, especially for visitors who want a slower-paced afternoon away from the theme parks.

Disney also plans to offer outdoor recreation that complements the resort’s natural surroundings.

Transportation will be another important part of the experience.

Lakeshore Lodge will provide water taxi transportation to Magic Kingdom, allowing guests to travel to the theme park by boat.

That could be a welcome alternative for visitors who enjoy arriving at Magic Kingdom by water rather than relying exclusively on buses or other transportation options.

The waterfront location, recreation offerings, and transportation access should give the new resort a distinctive place within Disney World’s existing hotel collection.

Disney has even given visitors an opportunity to see what the completed property will look like before its opening.

A scale model of Lakeshore Lodge is currently on display inside the Walt Disney Presents theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Guests interested in the resort can visit the display to get a closer look at the project’s planned design.

What Guests Should Know Before Booking a 2027 Disney World Vacation

With Lakeshore Lodge scheduled to open July 1, 2027, Disney World visitors now have another accommodation option to consider for next summer.

The latest confirmation regarding complimentary water park admission adds another benefit to the new resort’s growing list of offerings.

However, guests should pay close attention to the eligibility requirements.

The free water park admission applies to the hotel check-in day during Disney’s designated summer benefit period. It is not a complimentary water park ticket that guests can use on any day of their vacation.

Similarly, Early Theme Park Entry requires valid admission, while Extended Evening Theme Park Hours operate according to Disney’s published schedule.

Understanding these differences can help visitors avoid confusion when making their plans.

For families who intend to spend several days exploring Disney World’s theme parks, the combination of benefits could provide additional flexibility.

They could potentially spend their arrival day at a water park, take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry during their vacation, and enjoy extra evening access on participating nights.

Of course, how much value these benefits provide will depend on each family’s travel dates, vacation plans, and personal preferences.

Disney still has more information to announce about its 2027 summer water park program, including the exact dates when eligible guests can use the complimentary admission offer.

For now, one thing is clear: Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge won’t simply introduce another place to sleep at Walt Disney World.

With its waterfront location, nature-inspired accommodations, recreational amenities, and expanding list of resort benefits, the new property is preparing to give visitors an entirely different way to experience a Disney World vacation when it opens next summer.
