Disney World Extends Operating Hours at 3 Parks, Magic Kingdom Gets Biggest Change

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can feel like putting together a puzzle, especially when park hours, special events, and attraction wait times all affect how much guests can accomplish during their visit.

Fortunately, Disney has delivered some welcome news for families heading to Orlando in November.

With the holiday season approaching, Walt Disney World has made several adjustments to its operating schedule, giving visitors additional time inside some of its most popular theme parks.

The changes affect three of Disney World’s four theme parks and include earlier openings, later closing times, and one particularly generous extension that could make a big difference for guests planning a full day of attractions.

For anyone visiting during the second week of November, these adjustments could create new opportunities to experience favorite rides, enjoy entertainment, and get more value out of an already expensive Disney vacation.

Disney World Announces Extended November Park Hours

Walt Disney World has updated its operating hours for the week of November 8 through November 14, 2026.

According to WDWMAGIC, the latest adjustments affect Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

While the changes vary depending on the park and date, several operating days now offer guests additional time to explore.

Some visitors will benefit from earlier morning openings, while others can enjoy extra time in the evening before heading back to their resorts.

These extensions are particularly helpful for families trying to experience as many attractions as possible without feeling rushed throughout the day.

After all, when guests spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a Disney World vacation, every additional hour inside the parks can make a difference.

However, the biggest adjustments are happening at Magic Kingdom, where several dates now feature longer operating schedules.

Magic Kingdom Receives Major Operating Hour Extensions

Magic Kingdom is getting some of the most significant changes during the week of November 8.

Disney has extended operating hours on six dates, giving guests more opportunities to experience attractions throughout the park.

On November 8, 9, and 13, Magic Kingdom will now open at 8 a.m. instead of its previously scheduled 9 a.m. opening.

The park will still close at 6 p.m. on those dates, meaning visitors will receive one additional hour in the morning.

Here are the updated Magic Kingdom hours:

  • November 8: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (previously 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • November 9: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (previously 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • November 10: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. (previously 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
  • November 11: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. (previously 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
  • November 13: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (previously 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • November 14: 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. (previously 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.)

The November 14 adjustment is especially noteworthy.

Instead of operating from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m., Magic Kingdom will now welcome guests from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m.

That gives visitors a full 15 hours inside the park, compared to the previously scheduled 13 hours.

For guests hoping to experience attractions such as TRON Lightcycle / Run, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Haunted Mansion, those extra hours could provide some much-needed flexibility.

The later closing times on November 10 and 11 could also benefit visitors who prefer spending their evenings at Magic Kingdom.

Rather than rushing to complete their final attractions before 10 p.m., guests will have another hour to enjoy the park.

Of course, longer operating hours do not guarantee shorter wait times, but they do give visitors more room to adjust their plans.

Animal Kingdom Guests Are Getting More Time, Too

Magic Kingdom isn’t the only Disney World park receiving an extended schedule.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will also operate longer on several dates during the same week.

Unlike Magic Kingdom, which is receiving a combination of earlier openings and later closings, Animal Kingdom’s adjustments focus entirely on extending the evening hours.

The park was already scheduled to open at 8 a.m. on the affected dates, and those morning opening times remain unchanged.

However, guests will now have more time to explore the park before closing.

The updated Animal Kingdom schedule includes:

  • November 8: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (previously 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • November 9: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (previously 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • November 13: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (previously 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • November 14: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (previously 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

The November 14 extension is the biggest change, giving visitors two additional hours inside Animal Kingdom.

That’s particularly good news for guests who enjoy experiencing Pandora – The World of Avatar after sunset.

The land’s glowing landscapes create a completely different atmosphere in the evening, making nighttime visits a popular part of the Animal Kingdom experience.

Additional evening hours could also give families more flexibility when deciding when to experience attractions such as Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey.

For visitors who typically leave Animal Kingdom early because of its shorter operating schedule, the extended hours may make spending an entire day there more appealing.

Instead of trying to fit everything into a relatively short window, guests can take their time exploring the park’s different lands and attractions.

Hollywood Studios Also Gets an Earlier Opening

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is receiving a smaller adjustment, but it could still benefit visitors planning to arrive early.

On November 14, the park will now open at 8:30 a.m. instead of 9 a.m.

The closing time remains unchanged at 7 p.m.

That means guests will receive an additional 30 minutes inside Hollywood Studios.

Although half an hour might not sound particularly significant, early morning time can be valuable at a park filled with popular attractions.

Visitors hoping to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, or The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror may appreciate having additional time to begin their day.

The adjustment also gives families more flexibility when planning breakfast, transportation, and their arrival at the park.

However, guests should remember that an earlier official opening does not necessarily mean every attraction will begin operating at exactly the same time.

Checking the My Disney Experience app before arriving remains the best way to confirm attraction availability and operating schedules.

What About EPCOT?

One noticeable detail in Disney World’s latest announcement is the absence of EPCOT.

While Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios are receiving operating hour extensions, the reported update does not include any additional changes for EPCOT.

That doesn’t necessarily mean EPCOT’s schedule will remain unchanged throughout November.

Disney regularly adjusts its park hours as dates approach, and additional modifications could still appear.

For now, however, guests visiting EPCOT during the week of November 8 should continue planning around the currently published schedule.

Anyone building a vacation itinerary that includes all four Disney World parks should keep checking for updates, particularly as the holiday season gets closer.

Why These Extra Hours Matter for Disney World Visitors

For many families, a Disney World vacation requires months of planning and a considerable financial commitment.

Between admission tickets, hotel accommodations, dining, transportation, and optional Lightning Lane purchases, the overall cost can add up quickly.

That’s why extended operating hours are often welcome news.

An extra hour in the morning could allow guests to experience another attraction before the park becomes busier.

Similarly, an additional hour at night gives visitors more flexibility when deciding whether to enjoy another ride, explore the park, or simply take in the atmosphere.

The changes may also benefit families who prefer taking afternoon breaks.

Instead of spending the entire day walking through the parks, guests can return to their hotels for a few hours and come back later without sacrificing as much park time.

For visitors traveling with younger children, that flexibility can make the difference between an exhausting vacation day and a more enjoyable experience.

Of course, guests should also remember that extended operating hours are not the same as guaranteed access to every attraction.

Individual rides may have different schedules, experience temporary closures, or stop admitting guests before the park officially closes.

Disney World Guests Should Check Their November Plans

The latest operating hour adjustments offer a welcome opportunity for guests visiting Walt Disney World during the second week of November.

Magic Kingdom receives the largest overall extensions, including a 15-hour operating day on November 14.

Animal Kingdom also gains valuable evening time, while Hollywood Studios will welcome guests 30 minutes earlier on November 14.

Although these changes may seem relatively small compared to major attraction announcements or new park experiences, they can have a meaningful impact on vacation planning.

Guests who already have park reservations, dining plans, or Lightning Lane selections should review their schedules to see whether the additional operating time creates new opportunities.

It’s also worth remembering that Disney can make further changes as November approaches.

Park hours remain subject to adjustment, and guests should always confirm the latest schedule through Walt Disney World’s official website or the My Disney Experience app.

For now, though, visitors heading to Orlando between November 8 and November 14 have something extra to look forward to: more time enjoying the Disney World attractions and experiences they traveled to see.
