Sleeping Beauty Castle Area Closed at Disneyland Park

The scaffolding around the bridge to Sleeping Beauty Castle has finally disappeared, but the magical walkway still isn’t open to Disney Park guests. Here’s what to know before your next vacation.

Back in May, the bridge to Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park (Paris) closed for restoration. Plywood walls and scaffolding surrounded the iconic pink structure. Disneyland Paris Resort eventually installed a fabric scrim featuring a picture of the castle in an attempt to soften the impact of the construction project on guests’ vacation photos.

Initially, Disneyland Paris Resort said the bridge would reopen in “late September 2026.” However, that date came and went, and the construction barriers still blocked the bridge to Sleeping Beauty Castle. Finally, on October 12, the European Disney park shared a first look at the refurbished structure.

Disney cast members rebuilt the structure supporting the decorative portions of the pathway and replaced both the drawbridge deck and the wooden balustrade posts. They used 2,735 individual granite blocks to form the arch beneath the bridge and replaced the original stamped concrete with waterproof granite paving that Disneyland Paris Resort says is more aesthetically pleasing and easier to maintain.

A brand-new compass rose made of natural stone and brass accents the bridge, featuring blue and red sections connected by a green arc. The colors and design motifs are inspired by the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty (1959): Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. In the center is a brass medallion decorated with Princess Aurora’s crown.

Despite the announcement earlier this month, scaffolding still blocked guests from the bridge to Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park (Paris). On Thursday, a report emerged hinting that the reopening of the iconic theme park pathway is just days away.

On October 29, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DLPReport shared several photos of the restored Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge at Disneyland Park (Paris). The walkway still isn’t open to Disney Park guests, but the recent removal of the scaffolding and construction walls offers the clearest view yet of the finished structure.

🔧 Scaffolding is down at the Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge, but it remains closed for now. Looks fantastic!

The bridge is expected to open sometime in the coming days, before the popular Disney Enchanted Christmas festivities begin on November 7. @DLPReport wrote:

Yes it should open this week
