Disney Parks have undergone their fair share of changes in the past few years. Current leadership within The Walt Disney Company has manifested itself in several unexpected developments, particularly within Disney’s Parks and Resorts.

New ideas have been implemented, many of which have been frustrating and disappointing to loyal fans. With the recent news of brawls, overcrowding, and small portions, some devoted Guests have finally reached their breaking point with Disney.

In an article published by insider.com, one family shares their gripes about recent experiences at Disney Parks. The family resides in Florida and has maintained annual passes for eleven years.

But, for the first time, they have decided not to renew them. Last year the family of four spent over two thousand dollars on their exclusive Disney Park membership. They feel that their frustrations have been building over the past three years, causing them to forfeit a beloved annual tradition.

Perhaps this is what Disney wants? The company’s recent choices seem to reflect a desire to control the crowds. So, why does it seem like the situation has gotten worse instead of better?

Overcrowding was one of the determining factors in the family’s decision to cancel their membership at Walt Disney World Resort. Despite the reason for the influx of Guests, whether it be a result of the pandemic, changes to the Resort, or the 50th Anniversary, people feel overwhelmed by the crowds.

Another frustrating aspect of Disney Parks is confusing ride system changes. Lightning Lanes add an extra cost to an already expensive vacation, leaving Guests flabbergasted. Some suggest the service makes the lines even longer!

The family lists technology requirements, fewer character interactions, and higher costs as additional reasons for their decision to stop visiting the Parks. Prices have increased across the board at Walt Disney World Resort, with hotel accommodation costs skyrocketing as well.

Until Disney implements some much-needed improvements to their Parks, they may start to see a cycle of Guests opting out of pass renewals. Maybe that’s what it will take to get the message across.
