As shared by the OrlandoSentinel: “I am so sad to see this. It will have serious consequences that management cannot even imagine,” Abigail Disney wrote in a Twitter thread this week. “Disney management talks about the ‘family’ that works at Disney, and about the ‘magic’ they make together. I guess that is easier when things are going well. The real magic will have to be made by the men and women who are trying to feed their families without salaries.”
“As you can imagine, a decision of this magnitude is not easy,” Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, wrote in a letter to employees that was released to the media this week announcing massive layoffs. D’Amaro said about 67% of the employees losing their jobs will be part-time, which drew heavy criticism from Abigail Disney.

“The layoffs are apparently heavy on part-time workers and it should concern you that such a high percentage of their workforce is part-time,” she wrote. “Most of their part-time workers are working second and some even third jobs just to keep their heads above water.”
