We previously announced details from Details Parks Blog around the planned opening of BaseLine Tap House planned for Disney’s Hollywood Studios later this fall. There are actually a ton of huge changes underway at the popular theme park with the addition of two new themed lands, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land. We are also excited about another new area coming to the park, Grand Avenue. This addition is more like an area than a full themed land like the other new ventures, but it’s definitely looking to be an exciting addition to the park. With the coming of Grand Avenue, the current Muppets Courtyard and portions of the former Streets of America area will be completely re-imagined to the new theme. Walt Disney Imagineering is leading the project to create a likeness to present-day downtown Los Angeles in California. According to Disney Parks Blog, “Guests will soon see facades for ‘merchants’ appearing in this area for a music shop, loft apartments, a tailor and more, with each window on the street featuring charming displays.”

The Muppets Courtyard area will become Grand Park, which will be an urban square off of the Grand Avenue area that will be the area surrounded by the different shops and restaurants. PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano will stay in their location and be part of the themed experience. BaseLine Tap House is one of the new food/beverage additions to the area. This will be a corner pub type of location that will feature California beers and wines along with samplings of delicious food items. The theater where the Muppets attraction takes place has already been renamed to “Grand Arts Theatre” as part of the transition to the new theme of this area. The show remains unchanged, which no current announced plans to remove the Muppets completely from the area.
The new Grand Avenue area is planned to officially open to guests this fall, with no set date announced. As always, we will update as soon as we learn more.
What do you think of these additional changes coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios?
