‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ (2014) quickly became a fan favorite when joining the Marvel universe. Since the first film, two have followed, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2′ (2017) and the most recent, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3′ (2023). One major character in the film is Groot, played by Vin Diesel.

Baby Groot, specifically has been a hit character with his classic vocabulary of “I Am Groot”. Furthermore, the character changing throughout the series has merchandise for both Baby Groot and Groot.

More recently, a test was conducted at Disneyland Resort with some lucky Guests to meet the newest animatronic at Disney. Baby Groot has been a two-year test, in hopes of one day having this interactive character in the Disney Parks.
The project teased this reveal in April 2023, giving fans hope for what’s to come. Now, the tests are happening and Baby Groot has come to life. As Marvel said, “Clear the dance floor because Groot has arrived.”

Baby Groot Can Dance

Imagineers have a nearly unrealistic ability to take anything they create and make it life-like. Baby Groot is no different. As shown on stage, he is walking and dancing as if he is alive. He reacts and moves about, and shows off while having a dance-off with Star-Lord on stage. Select Guests at Disneyland have the opportunity to experience this pivotal moment in Disney’s history.

“There’s a promising chance that a walking Baby Groot will show up in Disneyland sometime soon” as detailed in Disney Dining. Guests love the idea of interacting with their favorite characters and Baby Groot brings that experience one step closer to fruition. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to meet Baby Groot in Disneyland on your next visit!
