Going on vacation doesn’t mean you have to leave your workout plans behind. If you are looking to keep up with your running and walking goals, Walt Disney World has some amazing resorts that can help you continue to achieve those goals while you are on vacation. We have the top resorts for runners at Walt Disney World.

Pop Century/Art of Animation

If you are looking for a Value Resort, you can stay at either Pop Century or Art of Animation. These two resorts are connected by amazing trails that take you around Hourglass Lake. You can enjoy either a 1.1-mile or 1.38-mile loop depending on your goal as you travel through the larger than life icons from different centuries in Pop Century and then enjoy colorful sections. Inspired by Walt Disney and Pixar Classics of Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid as you run through Art of Animation. This route is beautiful as you can watch the sunrise and the Skyliner come to life over Hourglass Lake.

All-Star Resorts

The other running option when it comes to value resorts is the All-Star Resorts. Disney’s All-Star Movies, All-Star Music and All-Star Sports provide a short, paved trail that connects all three resorts giving runners a nice 1-mile path. This is a fun path as you can experience the unique theming at all three resorts as you run.

Disney’s moderate resorts offer a great running path and are an excellent option for runners. These paths are slightly longer than those at the value Resort and offer some very scenic locations.

Disney’s Coronado Springs

For another breathtaking running path, check out Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. A .75 mile loop around Lago Dorado will take Guests on a gorgeous run through this moderate Resort. Guests can choose to snake throughout the Ranchos and Cabanas, giving them more distance and a better view of the Resort. Disney’s Coronado Springs also offers two fitness centers if you are traveling during a time where running outside in Florida might not be ideal. We find Disney’s Coronado Springs to be an excellent option when it comes to keeping up on running.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

For a palm filled run, you can stay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. The scenic run along the water will provide a 1.25-mile course. If you want to extend your run, you can also head over to Disney’s Riviera Resort. By doing this, you can not only see this outstanding deluxe Resort next door, but you can extend that run as well.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

For a rustic and nature filled run, you can check out Disney’s Fort Wilderness. One of the longest paths on property, this 3.1-mile stretch will take Guests through the shady and scenic backcountry around the Resort property. If you are a nature lover, this is the Resort for you! This is a great path for seeing nature as the woods are a wonderful place for animals to call their home.

Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter

The final moderate Resort offers a great running path around Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter. Along the peaceful Sassagoula River, runners can enjoy a 1.7-mile path that connects the two resorts. This is a fantastic way to see the two resorts and watch the river come to life in the morning.

When looking at Disney’s deluxe resorts, you will want to choose wisely as not all of them offer running options. We have some good suggestions if you prefer to stay at one of the deluxe resorts while keeping up with your running.

EPCOT Area Resorts: Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Villas

These four resorts connect to make an outstanding running path around Crescent Lake. You can run around the jogging paths that loop around the lake and through the resorts, no matter which resort you choose to stay at. Again, this path is a fun way to see all the different resorts as well as watch the lake and Skyliner come to life in the morning.

Monorail Resort Option

Suppose you are looking at staying at a monorail Resort and keep up on your running. In that case, we recommend looking into Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as well as Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. With amazing views of the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s wedding pavilion, and the Seven Seas Lagoon, this path connects the two beautiful resorts. If running during the day, you can even run towards the Magic Kingdom entrance for a little extra distance. There is nothing like the beauty of this area around Seven Seas Lagoon in the morning hours or evening.

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

This spacious Resort is an excellent option for runners who want to get those miles in a while visiting Disney World. The trails take runners around the beautiful greens of Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. The loops are either 1.44-mile to .8-mile circle, giving some great options for all levels of runners.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort

This 1.37-mile path winds through the canals and the fairways of Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. This is another scenic running bath that runners can extend as they run throughout the Resort.

Those are some of the best resorts throughout Walt Disney World Property for those wanting to keep up with their running and walking goals. No matter which level of Resort (value, moderate or deluxe) you wish to stay at while on vacation, there are resorts that can accommodate you and help you keep your fitness goals going. We are so grateful that Disney provides these running paths for their Guests.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
