If you hope to go to Blizzard Beach this Thanksgiving weekend, you will have to change your plans. The water Park will be closed on November 27th and 28th due to “Florida cold weather.” If you’re visiting from up North, you may think Floridians are crazy, but this is pretty cold to go swimming, although they do heat the water.

According to the official calendar on the Walt Disney World website, they are planned to be open on November 29th, but this could change. As of right now, both Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort and Aquatica is open. Things could change, though, so make sure to keep checking.

If you were planning on going to Island H2O Water Park, they will also be closed today. Right now, they are listed as open tomorrow the 28th, though.

Make sure to check the forecast before you leave on your Walt Disney World vacation. Especially in the cooler months, temperatures can be unpredictable, so plan for anything. One day it can be in the mid-80s, and the next day it can be a high of 60 and lows in the 40s. It is rare, but now and then, Florida will hit freezing.

Even when it’s cool here, it’s still better than the below zero snowy weather in other parts of the country. This is why so many Guests travel to Florida during these months or even become snowbirds.

Visiting at this time of year could be the perfect time with the 50th Anniversary Celebration and the new additions to the Parks. Things have reopened since the COVID-19 pandemic closure, and there is so much to enjoy. This could be the right time to plan your next Walt Disney World vacation.
