Bring Classic Disney to Your Home with these “it’s a small world” Cookies

“it’s a small world” is a classic Disney attraction and we love how in Disneyland this attraction gets a holiday overlay each year. Even though we won’t be able to enjoy the holiday overlay this year, Disney Family has a great cookie recipe that will bring the fun to your home.

Directions

  1.  Cream together your butter and sugar, then add in your eggs and vanilla. Combine.

2. Add in flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir with rubber spatula.

3. Cover your mixing bowl and place in the fridge to chill.

4.  Preheat the over to 375° F.

5. Place dough on parchment paper in a ball, then place another piece of paper on top of the dough. Then roll it out until it is about 1/4″ thick.

6. Use a small knife to cut the shape of the small world clock with a Santa hat, then place on cookie sheet.

7. Bake for 7-8 minutes, then allow to cool completely.

8. Mix together the royal icing ingredients (minus the food coloring) together until peaks form.

9. Place 1/4 into a piping bag with a medium-size rounded tip, then outline the shape of the clock head and fluffy white parts of Santa’s hat.

10.  Place 3-4 Tbsp of royal icing into a bowl and stir in red food coloring, add 5 Tsp of water, and use it to outline Santa’s hat.

11. Place the rest of the white icing into a piping bag, and fill in the white parts of your cookie — using a small metal spatula to smooth out the inner frosting.

12.  Add red food coloring to any leftover frosting, and pipe to fill in the red hat — spreading smooth with a small metal spatula.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
