The opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar has been a huge occasion for Walt Disney World. A lot of great new experiences and immersive technology has been added to Disney’s Animal Kingdom since the opening of this new land. There is another new experience where guests can create a very unique souvenir while visiting Pandora. Guests are now able to create an avatar model of themselves as a Na’vi. Guests can make their creation at the ACE Avatar maker in Windtraders at Pandora.

Once they arrive at the location within Windtraders an Alpha Centauri Expedition Scan Technician will help walk the guest through the process. They will use a facial capture scanner to collect all of the data in the Hybrid Digitizing System. The image is captured of the guest. After this point, then they are able to select the body style from 4 different choices, with youth and adult sizes. Guests are also able to choose the eye color, face stripes and a custom hairstyle.
After the customization steps are complete, the guest is given an identification tag. This is used at the ACE Avatar Make Fabricator to pick up a completed action figure that the guest created. The creation of the action figure typically takes about 30 minutes after the customization is done. During the creation process, the technician also has lot of facts and information to share about the Na’Vi. There are interesting facts to learn, like how the Na’vi have yellow eye and that the gene for dark hair is extremely strong in the Na’Vi race.
This is probably one of the most unique souvenirs that a guest can purchase at Walt Disney World, and also totally personalized to the guest. There are also outfits and other accessories available for purchase to further personalize your Avatar.
