Here in Central Florida, we just celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. Over at Tokyo DisneySea, they are celebrating 20 years of memories. Thomas Smith shared more with Disney Parks Blog.
As the “Tokyo DisneySea 20th: Time To Shine!” celebration continues, marking the 20th anniversary of the park, cast members and guests are enjoying spectacular attractions, dazzling entertainment and exclusive tastes.
Opened in 2001, Tokyo DisneySea is the first and only Disney theme park celebrating the myths and legends of the sea. Over the past 20 years, Tokyo DisneySea has taken guests on epic voyages of romance, adventure, discovery and fun, with unique experiences that can’t be found anywhere else.
To celebrate this special milestone, we wanted to take a look at some fan-favorite experiences. Let’s dive in!
Exciting Attractions: From Mediterranean Harbor to Port Discovery, Arabian Coast to Mysterious Island and everywhere in between, there are magical adventures to be had at attractions across the park!
Set sail to find the greatest treasure of all on Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage. Join Sinbad the sailor and his loyal tiger cub Chandu for an epic journey, following “the compass of your heart,” with music from Disney Legend, Alan Menken.
At Journey to the Center of the Earth, Captain Nemo has unearthed an unknown world deep underground. As you board a unique subterranean vehicle, prepare for an adventure that even the famed captain has never seen before.
Over at 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, you can board one of Captain Nemo’s submarine boats and join him in the search for the ancient city of Atlantis, said to have sunk to the bottom of the ocean long ago.
Enchanting Entertainment: A visit isn’t complete without taking in some of the stellar sights and songs of Tokyo DisneySea shows!
Enjoy swing jazz music, stylish sets and fantastic performances from Disney Friends in “Big Band Beat: A Special Treat!” You can even see Mickey Mouse himself jam on the drums!
In “Song of Mirage*,” Mickey Mouse and his friends go on an adventure to seek out the Rio Dorado – the legendary city of gold. Featuring an original story and innovative effects, this rousing performance is a sight to behold!
Delicious Bites: It’s no secret that Tokyo DisneySea serves up some of our guests’ favorite flavors. With specially flavored popcorn and dishes to delight your tastebuds, there’s so much to try!
Across Tokyo DisneySea, guests love to munch on uniquely flavored popcorn, such as Milk Chocolate, Curry, Black Pepper, Garlic Shrimp and more! Not to mention the specially designed popcorn buckets that are sure to become favorite souvenirs!
Guests looking for more to enjoy can find delicious dishes across the park like the Yucatan Sausage Roll, a spiced sausage wrapped in tasty dough, Ukiwaman, a Chinese steamed bun with a shrimp paste filling and a special 20th anniversary churro flavored with glittering sugar.
Charming Transportation: Across the park guests can also experience a trip unlike any other with transportation that celebrates the spirit and romance of travel both on the water and above the walkways of Tokyo DisneySea.
Take a trip around Palazzo Canals aboard the Venetian Gondolas. This elegant trip hosted by cheerful gondoliers is sure to delight!
Board an elevated, electric trolley for your ride to Port Discovery, and take in the signs of a beautiful harbor as you travel on the DisneySea Electric Railway.
Aboard the DisneySea Transit Steamer Line, guests can enjoy a fun waterway adventure during the day as well as a romantic voyage in the evening as the sun sets over Tokyo DisneySea.
Soon there will be even more to explore at Tokyo DisneySea with the creation of an eighth-themed port, Fantasy Springs, themed to the worlds of “Frozen,” “Tangled” and “Peter Pan.” We can’t wait for these new adventures!
