This year is the 20th year that Walt Disney World has showcased a life-sized gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The house stands at 14 feet tall in the resort’s lobby. It is created by the amazing pastry chefs on property and it something you have to see to believe. Disney Parks Blog shared an amazing time lapse video for how the gingerbread house is created. It takes over 400 hours of baking to make the 10,000 gingerbread pieces that are used to create the gingerbread house. The base structure is completed and then the chefs work to decorate with over 1,000 pounds of honey, 700 pounds of chocolate, 600 pounds of confectioner’s sugar and more. Of course in true Disney fashion, there are also hidden Mickeys found within the display!
The gingerbread house also doubles as a sweet shop selling fresh baked items that include:
