Cherish the Memories Announced for Hong Kong Disneyland

While Walt Disney World celebrates its 50th Anniversary, an important milestone is also taking place at Hong Kong Disneyland. The Resort is in the middle of its 15th Anniversary Celebration! Hong Kong Disneyland opened on September 12, 2005, which makes it 16 years old. Part of the celebration was put on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Fireworks and Disney celebrations seem to go hand in hand. Before the closure, a new fireworks show for Hong Kong Disneyland was announced. Like the other Disney Parks across the globe, it shut down when numbers started to rise, and the new fireworks spectacular never took place. It was to be called Cherish the Memories.

Multiple sources now state that Cherish the Memories will soon debut at Hong Kong Disneyland! The information is not yet found on the Hong Kong Disneyland website, and no date has been given. Sources say that it will start sometime in 2022.

Cherish the Memories will feature more than just fireworks. It is supposed to also be a projections show. Lasers and water effects will be used as well. Some of the films rumored to be featured are “Moana”, “The Little Mermaid”, and “The Princess and the Frog”.

Previous nighttime shows at Hong Kong Disneyland include Disney in the Stars and We Love Mickey! Disney in the Stars featured mostly fireworks. We love Mickey! premiered in 2018. It featured projections as well as fireworks. The show was a tribute to Mickey for his 90th birthday.

Hong Kong Disneyland is much smaller than some of the other Disney Resorts. Many of the classic Disney rides can be found, such as “it’s a small world” and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Mystic Manor is the Park’s take on the Haunted Mansion. There are also unique options, such as Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle!. It’s nice to know that Hong Kong Disneyland Guests will soon be able to end their days with a nighttime spectacular once again.

About Paula K

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010 we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the parks. Under the name Paula Brown I penned the novels Dream Wanderers and The Coffee Cruiser. I also am a co-author of Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida. I've been a vegetarian for well over a decade, a choice that my daughter eventually made as well. While my husband still hasn't joined us fully he has given up most meats except for seafood. I was relieved to find that vegetarian dining is not difficult at Walt Disney World.
