UPDATE: PeopleMover Refurbishment has been extended through January 30, 2021
One of our favorite Magic Kingdom attractions, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, has been “Temporarily Unavailable” for some time now as noted “Closed for Refurbishment” on the Walt Disney World website. As previously shared, refurbishment was noted through at least January 9, 2021. While we’re usually reporting an extension of the closure, it looks like the refurbishment could possibly end this weekend!

According to the Walt Disney World website’s refurbishment calendar, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is lifted from the refurbishment list as of January 10.
Here’s a screen shot of the calendar for January 9, where PeopleMover is still listed:

Then, instead of the usual continuation of the refurbishment we’re used to seeing, on January 10, PeopleMover is removed from the list as shown on the screen shot of the calendar below:
So, could Disney’s Tomorrowland PeopleMover finally reopen this weekend? We’ll keep our fingers crossed! Currently, the Walt Disney World website still shows no hours for the attraction beginning January 10 as shown in the screen shot below.
While Disney has yet to release the refurbishment details, it is rumored Disney is/was replacing the magnetic linear induction motors. We’re hoping we’ll be able to cruise along on the PeopleMover soon… but we shall see! We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
