DIY Mickey Pumpkin Garland

What You’ll Need:

  • Mini plastic pumpkins
  • Black, white, purple, orange, and pink acrylic paint
  • Cotton swabs
  • Black, white, purple, orange, and pink craft foam
  • Hot glue
  • Twine
  • Scissors
  • Mickey template

How To Make It:

1. Start by painting your pumpkins! You can make as many as you want, depending on how long you want your garland. I made three to four of each color. Apply a second coat of paint if you need to.

2. Wipe the pumpkins dry. Print out the Mickey template, and cut out the Mickey that looks closest to the size of your pumpkins. Use the template to trace just the ears over the craft foam that matches the colors of your pumpkins. You’ll need a set of ears for each pumpkin.

3. Once the pumpkins are completely dry, use a cotton swab to dab little polka dots all over the pumpkins. Alternate between white and black polka dots. Add polka dots to the foam ears as well.

4. Glue the ears onto the corresponding color of pumpkin.

5. Glue each Mickey pumpkin onto a string of twine by adding a small dot of hot glue behind the stem of the pumpkin, and pushing the twine down into the glue.

6. Make sure to leave about a foot of twine on each end so you have enough length to hang your garland wherever you like!

Note: All cutting and hot gluing should be done by an adult.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
