There was definitely an exciting announcement about Toy Story Land made today. Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, announced today that that Disney will release the opening date for Toy Story Land at the D23 expo. The expo is scheduled for July 14th through 16th, and we can’t wait! Toy Story Land was announced in 2015 as a new themed land based on the Toy Story universe to be build within Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. Development began in April of 2016 over a space that will take up around 11 acres within the park.

The new land will feature 2 brand new, themed attractions as well. One of the attractions will be a coaster themed after Slinky Dog. The story that Disney created around the attraction is that Andy had a coaster building kit that he used to build a coaster and then put Slinky Dog on it. The second attraction is an attraction themed after the aliens from the movie. The attraction will have guests rotating on toy planets while the aliens try to capture your rocket toy vehicle with “the claw”. Both of these attractions sound like a lot of fun and will add great family-friendly activities to the park. Of course Toy Story Midway Mania will also still be within the land as a third attraction option.
Who can’t wait for Toy Story Land? Based on the hype for the opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar, I think it is safe to say that Toy Story Land is also going to bring in tons of happy, excited crowds to see it!
