Anticipation continues to build for Disney’s new Haunted Mansion (2023) film. Part of the excitement comes as a result of the mixed response and underwhelming box office performance of the 2003 adaptation starring Eddie Murphy, which also drew inspiration from the iconic Disneyland (and Magic Kingdom) ride.
Movies Based on Attractions
Disney, however, is no stranger to creating cinematic experiences based on their popular theme park attractions, and some have achieved tremendous success, such as Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), which not only captivated audiences but also spawned a multitude of sequels. However, other films such as The Country Bears (2002) starring the voice talents of Christopher Walken and Haley Joel Osment were not well received.
