Disney Springs Gideon’s Bakehouse Warns About Cookie Resellers

It seems like “personal shoppers” are the next big thing at Disney! There are webpages and social media networks filled with Walt Disney World locals that are willing to do the Disney shopping for you and ship items home for a fee. While it’s an easy way to get the merchandise of your dreams when you aren’t in the parks or at Disney Springs, it does cause an issue with food. While Gideon’s Bakehouse may be THE best of the best place to get cookies, reselling and shipping cookies is a no-go. Gideon’s Bakehouse took to social media to share a warning about cookie resellers with a few other notes.

As shared via Gideon’s Bakehouse Facebook: “A few things of note that I’d like to put out there:⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Shipping: I’m grateful beyond measure that people from all over the world ask so regularly about shipping, but most of you here know we don’t ship desserts. Why? Gideon’s is a legit local bakery making everything by hand from scratch. We have a hardworking staff and a 4,000 square foot production kitchen that barely meets the relentless demand of two little Orlando locations. A national audience would crush us. Additionally, quality is more important to me than extra sales, and our desserts aren’t fond of shipping. They are free from added preservatives and not nearly as good shipped as they are fresh. You deserve our best.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Resellers: A growing weekly problem has been “personal shopping” services advertising my cookies for sale, shipped to your home. This is an issue because A) see above and our product is not packaged to meet FDA regulations for shipping. Most resellers are super cool and pull their listing on websites and Facebook groups once they realize they’re violating our preorder user agreement. Some, however, are less than honest with both you and me. Please avoid these services. A MASSIVE thank you to everyone that has our back and alerts me to these posts. ⁣⁣⁣Blooming: When chocolate starts to turn white, that is called blooming. It’s purely cosmetic and safe to eat but not super pretty. To minimize this, please avoid exposing the cookies to varying temperatures. This is especially important if you want to keep your Gideon’s desserts in tip-top shape on hot and humid Florida days, aka most of the year.⁣⁣ Visiting Gideon’s at Disney Springs: With restrictions lifting, we’re getting even busier. Be sure to check the Disney Springs part of our website for a continually updated “Things to Know” section to help you plan your visit!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣That’s it for now! Thanks for “listening.” xoxo”

Makes sense to us! So, if you see Gideon’s cookies or other goodies for sale from a personal shopper, be sure to avoid spending your money. You’ll want to visit Disney Springs to get the full, delicious experience!
