Disneyland’s “Eerily Lit in Blue” Naked Guest: Police Make a Huge Discovery About the Man’s Odd, Offensive Behavior

Guests who visited one Disney Park on Sunday as a wrap-up to their Thanksgiving holiday got far more than they bargained for when a young man removed his clothing and paraded through an iconic attraction for all the (small) world to see–and now police say they know what was behind the man’s deranged behaviors.

A Not-So-Lazy Sunday for Some

Sunday, November 26, 2023, will likely be a memorable day for guests of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Disney’s very first theme park remains the second-most visited park in the world and has welcomed approximately 16 million visitors a year since 2009–and 100% of those guests have donned clothing of some kind during their visit.

But over the weekend, a male guest who couldn’t seem to keep his clothing on has sullied Disneyland’s perfect record of hosting fully-clothed guests.

On Sunday, a 26-year-old man shocked guests and disgusted others as he was seen sans clothing walking in restricted areas of the “it’s a small world” attraction. According to guests who witnessed the man’s odd behavior, the ordeal on Sunday at Disneyland wasn’t a trench-coat-style scenario. Rather, the man arrived at the park fully clothed, but once inside the classic opening day attraction at Walt’s first park, it appears that the guest thought of clothing at Disneyland as optional, as he disrobed and began walking near the fixtures and sets of the iconic ride.

A pile of his clothing could be seen inside the attraction.

Guests Are Shocked by the Odd Behavior

In response to the incident at Disneyland, social media was abuzz with posts about the naked man, and many featured photos with meticulously placed emojis.

“I am on Small World, and there was a streaker; I cannot believe this happening,” posted Ashley Esqueda on X, formerly Twitter.

Because of the man’s refusal to wear clothing and his erratic behaviors, Disneyland employees called on the Anaheim Police Department to assist Disney Security team members in handling the situation.

Adding to the man’s already strange behavior, a video obtained by local television station KTLA Channel 5 shows the man “eerily lit in blue, orange, and pink lights, walking around in the buff to the sound of Christmas music.”

Police Get Involved

At approximately 1:30 p.m. local time, Anaheim Police officers arrived at Disneyland in response to calls for assistance with the ordeal.

Officials at Disneyland told reporters with KTLA that the man disembarked from a ride vehicle inside the “it’s a small world” attraction while it was in operation. As soon as they were aware of the situation, the ride was reportedly rendered temporarily inoperable.

While the man was seen wearing underwear by some guests, other guests reported seeing him completely naked, wading through the water inside the attraction near the entrance to the ride.

Police Make an Important Discovery

The 26-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested by officers and taken into custody. According to the Anaheim Police Department, the guest was arrested for indecent exposure, but he was also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance–likely the culprit behind the man’s strange behaviors–though it’s not clear which drug he was allegedly using.

Before being taken to the police station, the guest was first taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

When in the parks, Rebekah and her husband Scott make the most of their time by enjoying every minute with their Fab Four, by delving deeper into Walt’s vision for the parks and into the history behind the Walt Disney World Resort, and by photographing the many different types of architecture at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and on the World Showcase at EPCOT. When she’s not in the parks, Rebekah is excitedly setting travel dates and planning her family’s next adventure to their happy place deep within the Sunshine State. On breaks from planning her next trip, Rebekah is a writer, journalist and children’s author, penning children’s books about kids with special needs that she affectionately calls “believement-achievement” stories. Her hobbies include creative writing, paper crafting and interviewing Imagineers. She is also an advocate for Autism Awareness and for children with developmental disabilities of all kinds.
