Entire Disney Park to Remain Closed for the Day

Update: Disney’s Blizzard Beach is open regular hours again beginning Tuesday, February 14, 2023. For the latest on changes to Disney Park hours, read this article

The Walt Disney World Resort is home to four theme parks, two water parks, and Disney Springs, the Resort’s shopping, dining, and entertainment complex.

It typically takes severe weather patterns or a major refurbishment (in the cast of Disney’s two water parks) to close down an entire Park, but sometimes even cooler temperatures can cause a disruption to the schedule at “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is already closed for its annual refurbishment, with no reopening date confirmed as of this writing. And today, due to low temperatures in Central Florida, Disney’s Blizzard Beach remains closed today, February 13, 2023. Disney’s official website notes the closure by removing today’s hours (which would have been 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) from the calendar for Blizzard Beach.

Temperatures today in Orlando include lows in the 40s and highs almost reaching 70 degrees, making it a chilly day to spend at a Disney water park. Despite only slightly warmer temperatures forecast for tomorrow, February 14, 2023, Blizzard Beach is expected to reopen.

While Disney’s Blizzard Beach is closed for the day, pools at Walt Disney World Resort hotels are open as usual and will likely have extremely low crowds due to the cooler temperatures.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach (and Typhoon Lagoon when the Park is not undergoing refurbishments) are the only Parks at Walt Disney World that do not require reservations through the Park Pass Reservation System to visit. As such, they can be a spontaneous addition to your Disney vacation if the weather cooperates during your upcoming trip.

We will continue to monitor forecasts for the rest of the week at the Walt Disney World Resort, and will report back if any additional changes are made to the operating schedule of Blizzard Beach here on Disney Tips.
