5 Reasons We Absolutely Love Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom truly is a magical place. It’s where dreams come true after all. For many people, Magic Kingdom is the park that they look forward to visiting the most. It’s the park that many people think about when they hear the words “Walt Disney World”. Here are five of our favorite things about the Magic Kingdom.

5) Cinderella Castle

As said earlier, Magic Kingdom is what many people think of when they hear “Walt Disney World”. Many things that have to do with Walt Disney World have a picture of Cinderella Castle on them. When you walk through the front gates, you’ll see it staring at you. Cinderella Castle is a must do picture spot, and many people could stand there all day, not being able to believe that they are actually there.

4) Happily Ever After

Think about this; you and your family have just had a magical day at the Magic Kingdom, so what is a perfect way to end your day? An incredible firework show of course. Walt Disney World knows a thing or two about fireworks. Happily Ever After Fireworks has replaced Wishes, but has thankfully lived up to the beautiful display of fireworks, lasers, projection, music, and storytelling Magic Kingdom is known for. With 18-minutes of “heart, heroism, and humor”, Happily Ever After will send you on your way with your own “happily ever after” ending to an unforgettable Magic Kingdom day!

3) Family Rides and Shows

At Walt Disney World there is something for everyone. Luckily for the adults, the calmer rides are just as much fun for them as they are for the kids. You can dive right into The Little Mermaid with Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, or go see everyone’s favorite flying elephant and ride Dumbo the Flying Elephant. It’s a Small World is a classic that anyone of any age must do at least once, while Peter Pan’s Flight will take you on a journey with the boy that never has to grow up. Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor is guaranteed to make you fall over laughing when the monsters bring you into their world. It’s no longer screams that they’re looking for, they’ve found out laughter is much more powerful. Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover will give you a chance to sit down while taking you on a nice little ride around Tomorrowland, including some back areas that you can’t walk through.

2) Thrill Rides

Now these rides aren’t the most intense rides that you’ll ever go on, but that doesn’t mean they don’t give you a great thrill. People say that there aren’t any mountains in Florida, but they are very wrong. Magic Kingdom has three mountains to be exact. They are Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Space Mountain allows you to journey through the galaxy in a spaceship as you explore the universe on this in the dark coaster. For Splash Mountain, you will be riding in a log while you travel through caves, swamps, and meadows. You will hear some catchy Disney songs while on your adventure. Be prepared to get wet because the five story drop will get you soaked. The other Florida mountain that you will need to check out is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. As Walt Disney World says, it’s “The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness”, and they mean it. You’ll explore a ghost town on a train that takes you on a ride like you’ve never been on before. Another ride that the thrill seekers will not want to miss is Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. You’ll see all of your favorite characters from Snow White while taking a ride through the mine with some crazy twists and turns. Lines for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train can get very long, so if you don’t have a FastPass+ reservation, try to get in line for this as soon as the park opens.

1) Characters

No matter what your age is, everyone loves going up and meeting Mickey Mouse. Magic Kingdom has many opportunities to meet all of your favorite Disney characters. You can meet everyone from Mickey and Minnie, to Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore, to Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, and so many more. Plus, you can meet your favorite Disney princesses. If you just want to see the characters, but not meet them, the characters are also in the parades. That will give you a chance to see them, but not have to wait in the lines.
